View Full Version : Kicking myself

I changed my training a few days ago to brawl/archery. I'm retarded. They docked the airship today, with the new coraesine weapons, and (makes total sense) the weapons are attuned to the original buyer. But you also can't buy them without being trained in the weapon type (also makes total sense, but here's where I'm kicking myself). I'd gladly sit through 1000 migration hours if I could win one. I didn't think ahead when I did the instant fixskill, and these weapons look sweet as hell.

so uh if anyone happens to see Lothwynn and is feeling gutsy, ask him if he plans to release any brawlers, or how many ranks constitute being skilled enough to use and therefore buy, or if having the migration timer is enough.

is his shop open already?

Dude, you can buy those weapons off the shelf? Or are they just raffling a couple?

edit: shit, it's an auction, I'll never afford that

So use the FIXSKILLS thing. Instant migration, just add water.

He did that already, that's why he's kicking himself.

Or you could let me do it! :D

I agree with CrystalTears... why not let us kick you?

Archer boy. :smug:

'Course, I doubt Simu intended to let people change their skills every time a new l33t item went out at a merchant,

What is a coraesine weapon?

They do double flares, ... These new ones have special skills.. Quickening.. Raise it and you'll have haste... calls wind.. and more.

Looks like I had some info wrong. They're only auctioning off one, and raffling two others. I guess I'll stick Kunyin in the raffles, then you'd see a nasty lvl 15 warrior...

There's no way anyone's winning the auction for less than 100m, apparently. I had hoped there would be 3 or 4 auctions that peaked at around 95m apiece, then I woulda had a shot of getting one.

If your insane and have free time, you can try to hunt up a storm. Generate enough TP's to go like 1x in edged in a level or two but you'll be short trained in your other skills until the migration is over.

Or heck, play another character until you bleed off the time and then goalbot with your old one

If I see him in the chatroom again tonight, I'll ask him, but don't get your hopes up.

Did the merchant say what level you needed to be to win the raffle?

StrayRogue

I'd say old enough to hold one of them, which is 15, although a merchant early the other night said anyone over lvl 2 could win one of his auctions/raffles.

Zir

They're 6x? I thought the sign said 5x.

StrayRogue
02-04-2004, 08:36 PM
Ack, yeah sorry. 3x and 5x.

StrayRogue

No polearm. No brawling. No ranged. No blunt. Just blades (OHE and 2HE)

I'll enter with my rogue. Someone and or anyone please feel free to fill me in on the details via U2U or IM. Life is far too busy for me to catch up on all the happenings.

They're very awesome. However, after attuning to you, you have to use the ALOT to get the full effects (from the merchant poster, sadly, not real experience). When striking, occasionally it will summon wind to knock the critter down. Even more occasionally, it will summon a whirlwind that will blow the creature to another room entirely. You can set a point, and when you die, it will tell everyone at that point to come rescue you. It has double strike flares and air flares, though at first it will also attack you, or just flat out refuse to attack the target. It can be raised for haste.

There's another couple that I forgot, too, I believe.

StrayRogue

It can never be taken by another person or critter. It can cast call wind, hand of tonis and haste.

There's people camped out in the shop, even though the sign clearly says the auction will be announced well in advance on the calendar. Heh.

All I can say is hope to God you win the raffle, as no one on these boards will most likley be winning the auction, except Ardwen.

Galleazzo

Man, you got it. I don't think I'll ever have that much money. What do you figure the auction will go for, 50 mil?

And you KNOW the sucker's going on eBay fifteen minutes later

Mint

a weapon attuned to the winner so...if you youre selling it you'd have to sell the character as well, no?

Caiylania
02-05-2004, 10:02 AM
Oiy, I'll never have a sweet sword like that. But mine's perty!

Caiylania smooches an swept-hilt calvary sabre
Caiylania taps an ebon-hilted vultite warblade
Caiylania taps an old wood-hilted vultite longsword

They don't do anything fancy, but they amputate critters well enough :D

If it was 50m, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Galleazzo
02-05-2004, 10:39 AM
Mm, yeah, attuned, that's right. Good point.

Parkbandit
02-05-2004, 10:54 AM
The attunement will definately lower the price. Unattuned, it would probably garner well over 100 million.

Xcalibur

Auction or raffle? That weapon, seriously, is one of the strongest i ever read

Edaarin
02-05-2004, 10:59 AM
I already know 3 people who want it bad enough that they are each willing to bid upwards of 9 digits on it. We should start a pot on who's gonna win.
