Anyone know of a good printer that prints regular and can print photo's too? meaning one that hooks up to the computer so you can print say essays and also one that can print digital camera photo's? fairly cheap if possible, for an x-mas gift. Thankss

In my experience epson puts out a good all purpose printer. Decent with pictures and does text stuff. I am not sure how expensive ink is for it, but that always sucks

I use an HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One and it works just fine for day to day printing, photos, etc.

Here you go. Not too pricey at around $200+. My girlfriend's mom has this one and has had no problems. Loves it.

Consumer reviews on this printer. Solid in color and text, but looks like software might be problematic.

The Epson Artison 800.

The Bottom Line: The Epson Artisan 800 produces impressive color prints, photos, and text documents, and it outpaces the competition in almost all of our speed tests. We're impressed by its performance, but hesitate to recommend this printer based on the poor build quality and error-prone software.
