Yeah, I just about never do this, but I'm editing out this post. Only doing it once every five years or so should earn me a pass on it. If not, oh well.
Don't drink and post.
In response to the responses, I take very few drugs for any reason. I like to tough it out and try to let my immune system build up tolerances to whatever it is I have. I've got no tolerance to drugs at all as a result, but I had a splitting headache, so I took two "tylenol" after having two beers. Two beers isn't a lot for me over a period of a couple hours, so I was barely buzzed at the time. Didn't really think about mixing it because frankly, I was tired and like I said, don't do a lot of drugs, prescription or otherwise. I did notice that they were bigger than normal tylenol, but I chalked it up to it being the Wal Mart store brand stuff initially. A beer and a half later I was a locomotive with no trouble staying awake whatsoever. I've learned now that I had an equally good chance of eating two of my mother's husbands viagra. I suppose that would have at least provided a little more fun. As it is I feel like absolute shit.

Telling your boss you love him/her is always a fun time. I've secretly crushed on a boss before, but never came close to telling her. She was single too, damn it.
Edit: Mainly cause she was a single mom and had a 4 year old son, not cause of proper behavior. I didn't want any of that drama.

True, some tolerance to pain meds would help. However I don't take pain meds often and yet Vicodin puts me to sleep, not mental enough to cause me to post stupid shit on forums.
Don't you know what Tylenol looks like normally? I dunno, if I see a fat pill come out thinking it's supposed to be a slim pill, I'd wonder WTF it was before taking it.

Even the most generic brand of tylenol (just the plain white chalky pills) look different then vicodin. I thought it was common knowledge but my mom's a nurse so maybe that's why I know. :P

Even so, you shouldn't be popping any pills while drunk/drinking unless your goal is to specifically get high and fucked up. I guess some people take a pre-emptive ibuprofen before bed to help with a possible hangover, but if that was the case here he would have been in bed and not posting.

Call it "pussying out" if you want, but I don't use the forum as an outlet to find an argument at all costs, like some people. There was no good point to the OP. It was random garbage added to a statement about accidentally taken Vicodin. The only thing it was good for was inciting an argument, so I got rid of it.

Who the fuck puts Vicodin in a tylenol bottle?!
Yup. I thought those pills looked too big, and when I started getting loopy I inquired. My mother's a goddamn addict. And it wasn't technically tylenol. It was one of those store brand walmart knockoff bottles, but still!
The beers aren't helping either. I feel all wibbly and kind of like I want to puke. Have you ever watched I Love Lucy? Remember that episode where she was pregnant and said she felt dauncy? Like that, but without the fetus.
Anyway, enjoy these song framents!
Come out ye black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell her how the IRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Killashandra.
We're on the one road
Sharing the one load
We're on the road to God knows where
We're on the one road
It may be the wrong road
But we're together now who cares
North men, South men, comrades all
Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Donegal
We're on the one road, we're swinging along
Singing a soldier's song
Every bird upon my word is singing treble - I'm a rebel
Every hen it's said is laying hand-grenades over there Sir I declare Sir
And every cock in the farmyard stock crows in triumph for the gale
And it wouldn't be surprising if there' be another rising
Said the man from the Daily Mail
Oh my name is Joe McDonnell
From Belfast town I came
A city I will never see again
For in the town of Belfast
I spent many happy days
And I loved that town in oh so many ways
For it's there I spent my childhood
And found for me a wife
I then set out to make for her a life
Oh but all my young ambition
Met with bitterness and hate
I soon found myself inside a prison gate

I think it's more that your original post comes across as histrionic than actually "lol I'm high and posting".
I suppose it's entirely possible that everything happened just as you say, it's just that most people who've taken vicodin or have friends who have know that a very common effect is relaxing and knocking you out, not making you high and irrational. Adding alcohol to that equation only increases the odds of knocking someone out. Everything doesn't add up, I guess.

You may or may not have realized it at the time that you popped two vicodin instead of tylenol (and like everyone else, I say...dumbass) but I have a hard time believing that this mixture caused you to act in the retarded way your OP conveyed.
IMO, and provided I don't know you that well, I feel that once you figured out your stupid mistake you thought others would find it equally as funny and thought you would share it with all of us. I've only had Vicodin or Percocet, whichever one is less scheduled, once. It was after my wisdom teeth were removed. I remember having a nightmare that I had gone to hell (I don't believe in hell when I'm sober) and the fear I had, in my dream, would have woken me up had it been some very intense vivid dreaming from something I've had from things like ... alcohol. Or melatonin.
Thymus involution doesn't usually help with building up a T-cell specific immune response to most antigen once you're a decade or so post-pubescent. Eat a lot of Vitamin C and/or other anti-oxidants, make sure that if there are food-drug interactions, they're beneficial. And drink lots of fluids. Your body should stay healthy while building up an immune response. And ... if you find a way to permanently fight off rhinovirus, tell me.

I've taken vicodin and hydrocodone (it's generic) quite a few times to get high, and quite a few times mixed with alcohol. It never made me speedy, especially not mixed with alcohol. I don't believe I ever passed out from it but there were only two times I crossed my limit, and both times I puked. Either way, it's a dopey high, NOT a speedy one.

I don't know the exact liver pathways and am straightedge enough in the alcohol + pills department not to know whether or not drinking and painkillers is some sort of death formula; but, from what everyone dribbles on about, aren't any sort of analgesics with ethanol about the worst combination the human body can sustain?

They're definitely one of the more ill-fated combinations--I mean you're pretty accurate in that you've got one CNS depressant having a synergistic effect with another CNS depressant. Bye bye basic life sustaining functions!
We get a handful of homeless dudes (in addition to not homeless people) that overdo trying to get high with booze and oxycodone, heroin, naracotics/etc. whom we have to give the reversal Narcan to. They always wake right up swinging and screaming and going batshit crazy because we killed their blissful borderline OD so they'd start breathing at a non brain-damaging rate again. I don't think I've ever heard a "thank you" for doing that.

Shoot. What are you doing where you see all of this? And how often are accidental ODs accommodated by body bags?

I work in an ER just south of Seattle. I actually had an OD come in today by ambulance, but as I was getting the info on it they re-assigned the patient to another nurse with fewer patients. The guy had taken some Ativan and drank a fifth of vodka with it. I caught a glance of him later in his room, sitting up in bed, awake and looking kind of disgruntled, so he ended up ok I think.
I have yet to see a patient lost to an OD so far. I've seen some patients pretty snowed and dopey from ODs, but I haven't seen anything that wasn't salvageable. And I've seen more intentional ODs than unintentional so far. The last unintentional one that I remember was from a sweet little old lady who just had too-damn-many medications and ended up taking too much of one by accident.

What's the percentage of these cases coming out of Southcenter mall?

I accidentally took a double dose once. Shit load of medications are hard to manage without a pill counter thingy.

Had a friend die from Oxycodone and alcohol. I guess if they make it to the emergency room in the first place they prolly have a pretty good shot but if no one is around to notice...your dead.

Haven't actually seen any ODs from there, but I had a patient with appendicitis symptoms come in from there..
...you live in the area??

I don't know how some people manage to do it with the number of meds they're on. So many patients have medication lists as long as my friggin' grocery lists (and I love eating). They take enough pills to get full, practically.

You hit the nail on the head. Nearly every OD I've seen so far has been the result of someone being around to react and get help before it's too late.

Did his heart blow up because it was beating too fast from the combination of opiates and alcohol?

Think he just stopped breathing. Honestly we did not really get into the details his family called us to tell us he had died of an overdose.

Had a bad headache at work one day, my buddy says I've got something for that. I didn't even look at the pill I assumed it was excedrin migrane or advil or whatever....klonipin(sp). That was a fucking awesome afternoon at work! Apparently I carried on conversations with customers, printed out a picture of a fat girl eating ribs and taped it to my friends cubicle, laid on the floor to write some shit on the very bottom of a white board, etc. didn't remember any of it and got to hear all about it the next day.

My sister took one once because her nerves were shot. She was flying back home that day. She said when she was at the airport, she just sat in the floor and cried. She will never take one again. Plus, besides being used for anxiety, they are also used for seizures. You can also get seizures from not taking them if you take them for a few days in a row and quit. (think you were ok with one)
Like I said earlier, I used to do really stupid things with pills. (I won't go into the details) Sometimes I wonder how I made it out alive. Don't take other people's pills unless you are in tremendous pain and you know what the pill does and can't make it to a doctor. Even then, be careful.

This.
You're not supposed to take Klonopin without supervision if you have any history of depression because it can make it way worse. Also, most psychiatric drugs have heavy seizure risks, especially when mixed with alcohol (wellbutrin comes to mind).
People are most likely to be given seroquel or something else though to calm shot nerves/level out if they have a depression issue though. Seroquel sucks though, at least it did for me. My face went numb, I couldn't read or comprehend shit people were saying without a lot of effort, and my own speaking was really retarded. Mid-sentence I'd lose a word and just sit there like a retard trying to figure out which word I wanted to use :/ I guess some people are just really sensitive to those kinds of medications though.

Yeah, mild doses of any benzo are like alcohol and can make you a sad-panda-drunk, minus a BAC. Valium works more effectively, I think, at getting rid of the ability to have an emotion.
I'd just use VX-10 nerve gas. That shit works, bra'.

I take ambien to sleep now and again, and if I "fight" the ambien for whatever reason after I've taken it (say a show comes on TV that I wanted to catch or whatever), I'm a walking zombie. Won't remember half the shit I did/saw. I've literally woken up the next morning and vaguely remembered doing laundry or dishes... and when I look into it, sure enough, I've done it.
I think ambien is a roofie in disguise.
So, when you take ambien, go directly to sleep.

Try Rozerum. That's what I take. It's not a narcotic and it gives you wild dreams.
