I thought it looked pretty darn nifty. It reminded me of Underworld...I hope it doesn't flop like Underworld.

I hope it's not awful, like Underworld.

Nice that it systematically ruins the books, but then, coming from the place that made U571, Last Samurai and Pearl Harbour, I'm not suprised ;)

It's probably going to be worse then 28 days later.... I don't want to see anything worse then that.

It can't be worse than either of the Chainsaw Massacres. Or the Italian Job remake.

28 days later was horrible. I'd watch TCM 8 times over before I watched that retarded movie again. 28 days later was one of the worst horror movies of all times in my opinion.
28 Days Later ruled.

I agree Peam. The dvd sucked quite a bit, but it was awesome in the cinema. Kind of like Independance Day, it needed the big screen to emphasize the massiveness of the scale.

Working in a movie store makes your opinion mean less not more!
Come rent something from me.
I'd look down upon you.

I thought U571 and The Last Samurai rocked. Especially Samurai. That was the best movie I had seen all year after Lord of the Rings. I haven't seen Pearl Harbor but I heard it left much to be desired.
I would probably like this movie more if Hugh Jackman was Dracula instead. <drools>

If U571 was the movie where they steal the nazi sub it was awful.
28 Days Later was a good spooky movie (not a horror movie so much) to me but apocolyptic movies always spook me.
Underworld was a movie that should have been great but had so many flaws I was unable to enjoy it much at all.
Heres hoping for better from Van Helsing.

I think mostly the reason I liked U571 is because I'm gaining this newfound respect for submaries, seeing as how I live near a sub base, and I was never much into movies about submarines. That one was really good in my book.

This movie looks like it'd be alright.
I watched '28 Days Later' while coming down after two days and nights of no sleep, it scared me.
I'm looking forward to 'The Punisher' more than this one.

They may be cool movies, but they distort the history so badly. Americans DID NOT CRACK THE ENIGMA CODE. etc.
i don't know anyone that watches hollywood movies for historical value.
ps. i thought the werewolves looked cool and the movie looks fun, not good but fun, however the vampires looked lame.

Unless the movie states that it's a factual historical telling, I don't assume any movie is based exactly on facts and I view it all for enjoyment sake. I also never compare a movie to a book since they will never ever equal each other. They are two different mediums, so they need to be viewed as such as well, on their own terms.

I think, though, when a film is based on actual history, actual events and actual people, simple facts should remain the same, eh?

28 Days Later was good to watch once. Not something I'll probably ever watch again though, it annoyed me too much towards the end.

28 Days Later was alright, although I could have done without the random extraneous cock shots of the main characters. Also, Kate Beckinsale was a tour de force of vampire hotness

Jeeeeesus Christ, agreeing with Stray twice in one day.:flamed:
Ok, maybe its cause i was a history major but yes, when they make a movie about historical events lets DO try to make it on target.
If they want to make a fictional movie about a fictional war where the americans involved steal a fictional encryption device that helps them defeat the fictional enemy than great more power to them.
What was done in that movie though, was to take a real event and shamelessly take the impact and drama that those events had to power their own fictional creation.
As long as they dont try to say its "based on a true story" or some garbage and just make it as a movie then great knock yourselves out.
Want a good Submarine movie? Watch the good Old Das Boot or K-19. Both those are better not only in drama but in realism.
Hmm sorry to go off, pet peeve of mine i guess .:spin:

I saw K-19. That was great too.
My ex was a history buff. I hated going to the movies with him. He sucked the enjoyment out of movies for me. So I had to weigh it out.. him.. movies.. him.. movies. Guess who won? :D
