I have over 30 gems in Illi that don't register as gems, can't sell at the gemshop or jar with other like ones, all on the cheap side. So I finally assisted on the issue.

It was interesting, seems the lower level 1 holy recepticle gems (turn silver to gold) can be found in the treasure system. Bad news is you can't use them on anything worth more than their value. I'll do some testing on cheap boxes later.

You must be picking them up from someone dropping them on the floor or something. I've plowed through bijillions of gems and never hit one like that.

You hunt OTF, right?

How long have you been accumulating the gems you couldn't sell?

During the last few month or so I've collected gems in jars for AG tasks. I've got something like 2,500 gems set aside right there, thats not including the millions worth of gems I've just up and sold.

If they're rare drops, it becomes statistically improbable that you found 30 of them. If they're common drops then I expect I (or other people) would've bumped into a few, too.

It just seems more likely that someone made a bunch of them out of orb gems and decided they were worthless and tossed them out where you picked them up, not realizing they weren't normal gems.

These gems go back to February, and continue up to the present. I don't pick up that many random dropped gems. They're from all over. I haven't been in the ducts all that long, and I hunt my empath in various places, who is only 38.

Try appraising them at the pawnshop, and triple that value? That should be what the gem would have sold for, at the gemshop, were it still a gem. Usually you can tell a silver to gold gem by looking at it (maybe only a cleric sees it the right way) but you also need blessings (or some spirit lore) for the magic to work.

You ask the pawnbroker to appraise a solid moonstone cube.
The pawnbroker scowls, "Do not make me repeat myself, Medi! I'll give you 441 silvers, and not a silver more!"

Not a gem.

Gold to silver gems are not in the treasure system.

I am bagging about 500 gems a day and I have never ever came across one.

I believe you are stationed in Illistim. Last month I dropped a sack at the dais containing about 30 or so gold to silver gems that were too small for me to make use of. Perhaps someone picked them up, and some how they got to you, or got mixed up with your gems.

Take a look at the gems, are the gem types conducive to the Illistim territory? If so, this could give additional credit to my theory.

Scribes is a good dude, but he self-admittingly lacks knowledge of things.

Just a note, programming skill ability really depends on what type of GM position we're looking to hire. It's broadly divided between Dev and CE GMs. I'm a CE GM. I still can't code a thing after almost two years (coming in on that two year anniversary of being hired!).

Anyhoots, it always helps to apply so we have an application on hand.

Duh. This is one of the new CM boosting magical items.

wow yes, I picked up your gems from last month back in February...
