Okay, I am going to try and make a perfect weapon ONE MORE TIME with a Mandis Crystal shard. Needless to say, I am going to need a crapload of them.

Last time I paid 100K each, I know that they are getting scarce so I'll pay 300K each now.

Don't they make bane weapons? (I think it's an extra +1. Maybe some scripts, which make them 12908093280948098009m x Tsin.)

EDITED: Besides the +1 .......... I think they used to go Fisdan in a room that had other Mandis crystal shards in it? Wasn't that the deal? I guess since it's forged, you could have a natural +21, or +26 if you use a really rare slab. And then elegant, superior or perfect bonuses added to that as well. You could use eonake to make a sancted bane weapon, or a flaring bane weapon, stuff like that.

Basically, to my knowledge, it's been +1 since the whole Hochstib debacle and everything else is purely fluff.

There is only one perfect bane weapon that I have ever heard tell of, Tsoran supposedly made a perfect longsword way back when. I figure with the release of maul glyphs I might as well give it another shot...might get lucky.

Bring 'em out folks...if you don't like what I am offering to buy them for let me know what you want.

I don't think it adds +1. All it does is add the unsheathe script and a short show.

It stops special scripting too. Except for bragging rights, I don't know if it is worth cutting a perfect weapon off from the potential for exceptional stuff.

I've owned several. They aren't +1, and they make the weapon unblessable.

Scripted, yes, but you also can't use them with a scripted container like a sword belt or something.

Guess a perfect one would be nifty, but... meh to them in general.

Did not know about the unblessable part, that changes things dramatically. All the others (scripts and such) were of no real issue to me.

I tried using Purify on the one I have, which is supposed to "be cast upon weapons that are normally unblessable to make them blessed for one swing or one minute, whichever is expended first." Even that didn't work.

Still buying shards though, what the heck.

I used to own a 7x elegant bane greatsword and it was blessable. It was my undead sword when I had my vultite old style claid, you couldnt see the bless when looking at the weapon due to the mandis crystal show but it would still kill undead just fine.

I have a 4x rolaren longsword/gauche set of bane weapons, and both were blessable, last I checked. Admittedly, I haven't hauled them out of the locker in years.

Did they used to have some sort of mechanic that would tell you if you were in the same room as a shard. Something like that. I sold my two Mandis crystals when 500k was a going price. Or was it 50k?

Yeah, during that storyline when no one could use magic, those were the only weapons that could be used. You raise em, they give you some message (only viewable to the wielder) that tells you if a mandis shard is nearby or something. From what I've heard, there supposedly is still more mandis shards around, but it's not an ongoing storyline anymore so..

Bane weapons are blessable. Good luck with making a bane perfect, I know I'd be impressed, I once went through 13 slabs of vultite without a perfect piece, stupid bad luck...
