View Full Version : My PC is being an asshole

Seems to only be a problem with Youtube (probably other flash movies too), but whenever I load up a movie, it plays for a few seconds, then locks up for like 20-30 seconds before the rest loads up, then it usually plays the rest normally.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? It's pretty annoying. I defrag regularly and I always have Panda Antivirus/Antispyware running in the background, so I'm pretty much out of ideas. I deleted my temporary internet files and it's still doing it, so that's not it either.
Any ideas? Also how do you go about cleaning up/fixing registry errors? That's one of the main things that will cause your computer to run like dog shit after a while right?
Everything else on my PC seems to run fine. Probably not as fast as it used to, but yeah. HALP!

It's probably because you haven't tricked that shit out with a custom Goatse paintjob. Or Goatse'd your computer altogether:

It says it's for 95, but it works just fine on XP or Vista.

I have used this program for several years now and I think it works great.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!
CCleaner Home (http://www.ccleaner.com/)
Download CCleaner (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/download/cce8fe21916a4d3c9d82be054cf5519a/)
* Also, another thing it does is allow you to view and disable or eliminate your startup processes. Without gemstone or AIM, I got the task manager showing only 18 processes now.

That did the trick. Thanks a bunch.

Make sure you've got all your passwords/emails/account names written down before you use CCleaner.
Just a heads up if you want to dodge the hassle.
