I have seen some HIGH CS on alot of the near cap to cap empaths i hang with but I know its not as high as say sorcerers, but do empaths recieve any sort of TD pushdown like Clerics?

All the files say bone shatter gets a TD pushdown, but it seems to indicate that the pushdown goes away as your level goes up. Don't know if it goes away completely, or just slims it down some.

I thought the files said young critters were weak against it?
The last thing I saw an empath cast Shatter at was a Skeletal Soldier(34?), and it had the same TD against Smite and Boneshatter.
Empaths and Clerics don't get 425 (Elemental Targetting) therefore cannot generate the same CS as Wizards/Sorcerers. (it adds about 50 Elemental CS?)

Yeah that's what I meant, in a roundabout way. The pushdown gets less as the creature level gets higher. Just said it in regards to character level than creature level. From what you're sayin' it prolly goes away altogether by higher levels though.
The other reason Empath CS is lower is because you only get 1 CS for every 2 ranks in Empath circle instead of every 1 rank like in sorcerer circle. Learned that the other day when I switched from a rat swingin' plan to the normal runestaff training for my puff.

empaths and clerics both have 212/217, but don't really need it, cause the creature TDs generally aren't as high for them as sorcs and wizards.

1106 pushdown = 35 - level

ok this is the info i was talking about. So is it that creatures Mental TD(... wait... would it be Mental TD or would it still be Spiritual TD?...) are normally lower then that say of there Elemental TD?

Critters have a different TD versus every circle (MnS, MjS, empath, etc.) and they tend to be lower for the spiritual side over the elemental side because of 425.

Capped empaths with 200 empath circle have a screw loose anyway. Why give up all that awesome lore, or all that spell aiming, just to have a 500+ empath CS? It's nuts. If you got 17 million exp and want to though, more power to you.

This is wrong by the way. CS formula doesn't change based on profession.
Except the formula for 425 which differs for wizards and sorcerers.

I dunno. That's hwa ti though too, but I was fidlding around the other day with my level 5 empath, who's overtraind in spells for extra early cs.
CS = (Level × 3) + Primary Circle bonus + Secondary Circle A bonus + Secondary Circle B + Stat bonus
Empath spells 5
MnS spells 5
MjS spells 2
CS 45
Empath spells 9
MnS spells 3
MjS spells 2
CS 46
Know what? I'm drinking. If I try to reason through this now I'll probalby muck it up, and you might be right for someting I"m not seeing right now. i know ther's a loss of CS because I lowered secondary spell circles, but with 4 extra Empath ranks I thought it'd be more than a +1 bonus to overall CS. I'llf igure it out tomorrow.

Did you change your stats at the same time?

Nope. same stats. thas why I figured it wa ssomething different, and someone on OOC mentioned tat empath spells are only 1 CS everry 2 ranks when I asked.
I'll fidle around with it more tomorrow and post it here comptletly to get to the botrtm of things. It oculd have just been a lfluke.

It's because you are overtrained. You only get 1 CS point per spell up to your level. After that, you get diminishing returns.

Yeah but +4 extra ranks = 4 CS
Then subtract 4 extra ranks of secondary ranks = 4/2 CS = 2 CS
is a gain of 2 CS, not 1

You ignored his point. AFTER it catches up to level, it is less that 1 per spell rank. It's only .75 cs per rank after your level up to 20, or 3 CS in this case (.75*4). Minus the same 2 CS is a gain of 1.

Ohhh okay. I just wasn't understanding what he was trying to say. That makes sense. Thankya. Dunno why somebody on OOC told me it was 2 ranks per 1 CS for Empaths.

It is...if you're between 21-60 ranks over trained :)

Ah, I see. Thankya much for that clarification. I'm still sort of hung over and drowsy at the moment.
