Has anyone else played this?
I'm a few hours into it, and I'm absolutely convinced that whoever greenlighted this game was binging on shrooms. Even the music is a demented mix of Japanese trance and folksongs.

You've listened to Japanese trance?

I liked first one, the second one was so freaky that I never tried the third one.

I played the first a lot. My lil bro dug the second and third. My favorite cast is still from the first installment.

I will never again give in to Disgaea.
I would sit there and just explore Item World, trying to make uberpwnage items.
...Must have wasted 200 hours of my life doing that. NEVER AGAIN.

Not only have I never heard of it, I'm not even sure how to pronounce it.

Everyone I've heard say it pronounced it dis-guy-a. It's a fun game and if the third installment is anything like the first two...really funny stories too.

So I'm about 20 hours into it. I'm convinced that you would enjoy this game more while baked, but it's oddly addicting.
The storyline is utterly nonsensical.

ARISE FROM THE GRAVE.
Anyway, instead of going into work today, I finally beat this game. I put in a little over 96 hours since getting it at the end of November, probably 80 hours of which was spent in Item / Class world.
I never played either of the first two games, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I stand by my initial assessment that the story would have made a lot more sense if I was stoned out of my mind.
On the plus side, I managed to do over two billion damage in one hit.
