I, for one, will be inside ALL DAY that day. I know tons of people love that day, I'm just not one of them. I might do some online shopping though.

I went ONE time and ended up spending most of my time in the car waiting for my aunt and grandma to get back from each store. I will never, ever do it again.

I've got work in the evening, so that day I'll prolly just relax and eat turkey sammiches and play video games.

From what I been reading, the limited quanity stuff is going to be nice if you're in the market for an LCD or Plasma HDTV. Can save a lot of cash if you're willing to camp in front of a Circuit City or Best Buy. I, however, don't think I need to deal with the craziness for 20%. I'll gladly spend 20% more to avoid the malls during the holidays.

This year I'm doing everything online, as most things I've wanted to get are ordered already.

My part time/ fun job is loss prevention. I'll be working a long ass day on Friday (better than nothing given I R no have a real job currently). It's always retarded on Black Friday and for the rest of the season. Pulling shoplifters is like fish in a fucking barrel from now til New Years I love it.

My first job was for a retail company that didn't prosecute shoplifters. So right after Thanksgiving people would flood into our store and walk out with a bunch of clothes and not even try to hide it because they knew we wouldn't call the mall cops or that. Then our managers would bitch at us for not "stopping it" because apparently us going up and saying "Here let me ring you out" while they laughed in our faces as they left was enough to make them feel guilty?

I'm so fucking glad I don't have anything to do with retail anymore.

I loved my first job in retail security as an "undercover". Back in the days the company I worked for had "peeks" where you could sit in walls and watch for shoplifters. Naturally they were great sleeping places when you were hungover as well....

Being a black man myself, I'm insulted at this name, because it's racist in the sense that it implies all blacks are looters, and I will not stand for this.

I am looking into getting a GPS on sale.

Right now some Garmin systems are way on sale just on Amazon.

Going to try to do some research and find something useful without all the bells and whistles I don't need. For instance, I don't have a bluetooth phone so that feature would be useless to me.

I used to work in retail as well Praefection. If you've never done it before, you're gonna find it's one of the best days in the year. You have so much to do, and normally in stores all the employees come together and work to get everything done as efficiently as possible because there just isn't time to get all the normal workplace bitching, backstabbing, and drama done.

Black Friday is the fastest 14 hour work day with holiday pay in a retail employee's life. Just....don't work Christmas eve. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, QUIT IF THEY PUT YOU ON CHRISTMAS EVE.

Had to work ODP Christmas eve a few times because I was the bitch manager. Read: Only unmarried manager.

Last one I did, I got so blindingly bored that I made Reindeer nametags for every employee in the store that night.

....The one old lady that came in that night thought the Tech Salesman's name really was Blitzen..

It was sad.

Don't work Christmas eve.

And on a somewhat related note, don't make reindeer nametags for your employees either. They will wear them well into the next year and confuse the customers.

I don't use force unless I feel there is danger presented by the person. Like I said in all my apps the actual need for use is very rare. Besides I've had my ass whooped a few times back in the day, it builds character.

It's fun. Your biggest concern is keeping droves of people safe though. People in that big of crowds fighting for deals always end up turning into jack asses that forgo common courtesy and it results in injuries.

I love Black Friday. I went for the first time a few years ago, and we've gone every year since. We don't have any big ticket items to buy this year (so we aren't gonna be out there waiting for hours til they open at 4 or 5 or whatever) but there are a few things I want to pick up, so we will be going tomorrow, just later than usual. Probably around 7 or so.

Don't know how you guys have the energy for Black Friday. I'm very much a night person, and the thought of getting up at 4:00AM to save even significant amounts of money is not appealing. Seems like the Black Friday craze hasn't really had a "twenty first century" update in terms of online shopping, but can find some decent deals.. Meh. :/

Just got back from the outlet mall. Three and a half hours was all I could take, apparently. I blew um.. three hundred or so? Mostly on myself and my boyfriend and our household stuff.

We got up at 7 and were out the door at around 7:45. Went to Target to pick up a few things and the only thing I couldn't get was a 15 buck toaster oven that sold out. :(

Went to Best Buy after, then came home to get my mom and we went to breakfast. Then we hit the mall and I got a couple pieces of clothing and jewelry for cheap and some video games. I wanted to go to Kohl's and check out their fashion jewelry because a lot of it is way awesome and it was all 50% off but it was already 1pm by the time we were leaving the mall and Kohl's is at ANOTHER mall like... half an hour away. I'm gonna look through their circular online tho and if shit's still 50% off throughout today and tomorrow i'm so going to buy bunches later.

Glad I went to office depot for the door busters. Great crowd there this year a dj with his laptop playing tunes for people a lady with a dvd player had hancock on, another one making runs to starbucks for people hell we even saved a guys place in line when he realized he didn't have enough cash on him for the laptop(he seen the price in the add and didn't realize that there was a mail in rebate) while he went home to go get some more. Was actually enjoyable waiting outside for 5-6 hours. Someone even called there Mom to bring more blankets and chairs for people that didn't have them. In conclusion way the fuck better than best buy last year. Oh but I spent way the hell too much. About 700 at office depot and another 2-300 at other stores. Worst line I was in though was at Menards and didn't get the main thing I was there for, Hit sears for a roomba for the wife took the guy about 5 minutes to find one in the back room since there weren't any left on the shelf and then he checked me out at the register back there took maybe 15-20 minutes total including parking.

The one and only thing I went shopping for was laptop RAM. I managed to find 2 gig sticks for $11.99 so I bought two of them and now my laptop has 4gig ram.

I just bought a bunch of clothes. All year I never buy anything for myself until Black Yesterday. Also bought some presents, this discounts were nice. I went to the mall, I was able to park within about 2minutes of looking, and the the longest line was about 2 people infront of me.
