Posting bias because I don't care about anything I forgot about.
- IMO, the Tourney is the best, which is why I put it first. The entire thing is just setup so perfect with the structure and small school vs big school and the thrill of the upset. Its badass no matter if your team is playing or not, which is what I think seperates it from the rest of the choices.

Maybe if basketball had a pro sport that wasn't a joke I'd watch the NCAA more but as it stands I can't stand the NBA so I don't watch NCAA basketball.
I'm in love with the superbowl...but I voted for curling because it's the shit.

Tour de France is awesome, I watch that with my dad every year. He and I used to bike a lot when I was in high school (I probably haven't biked more than 10 miles total since then) so we always got into the Tour.
World Cup to me is meh, I don't get to watch much hockey so I don't get the finals fever with that sport.

No golf? :(
I used to really like basketball. I still do, but the college game has gotten to the point where all the standouts are one-and-done, and the games are basically just a three point shooting contest. Pro ball has been mostly irrelevant, and the players bring more drama than a season of Desparate Housewives.

The World Cup is fucking awesome. Decades of mutual hatred between countries + hooligans + alcohol = win.
I made a pact with a close friend that we would see a world cup game before we die.
We never do well but whatever. When the US beat Mexico I thought there were going to be race wars in my town.

I love March! Mighty Bruin BB is the only thing that keeps us from slashing our wrists during fb season.

Tour De France is le no.
I considered the World Cup but curling beat it out, sorry. (actually I figured it wouldn't get enough votes since this is mostly americans and other events are obviously more popular here)

What would you have put? PS Indy500 is not nascar.

Man this should have been multiple choice!
NFL playoffs and superbowl are always great
NCAA bowl bids are always great
NCAA bball is great
Stanley Cup is great
I'll have to abstain for the mean time.

I like the NFL playoffs, baseball playoffs and March Madness all about the same.

I voted NFL Playoffs and Superbowl but you got to love the Little League World series. Its right up there with the Spelling Bee as far as little kids crying.

any hick car racing=nascar.
I'll take, in no particular order, gymnastics in the olympics, a U.S. Open night match, nfl playoff games in the snow (fuck the warm weather super bowl rule), triple crown horse racing, baseball game 7s

Love it or hate it, 'hick car racing' made something on the order of 3 billion in revenue last year. I prefer other forms of racing but there is an undeniable feeling of power at the big Nascar events.
I'd say high end college football, World Cup Soccer, or bullfighting for me.

World Cup all the way. I wouldn't miss the Superbowl, of course, but I watch the World Cup from the prelims all the way to the finals. So addicting.

These racing teams are 100x more sophisticated than you could ever be in your wildest dreams.
I'm not a fan of Nascar or Indy car. I think Nascar fans are generally worthless (being from Indiana, we've got a lot of them). But I will not deny that these teams are functioning at the highest levels of sophistication using top-notch equipment. I'm not sure how you can call it "hick" racing. Especially when you've got Indy car and some F1 drivers (nether of which can hardly be called "hicks", fans as well as drivers) trying to break into the sport because the money is so good.
In conclusion -- your shit stinks, too.

I'm being a complete elitist and judging the fans. I'm sure the races are technical, but I don't enjoy watching them at all. I listed events that I find exciting to watch.
My shit stinks like lavender.

Oh. Ok. I thought you were assumign it was still Dukes of Hazard racing and shit.
I think it's fair to say Nascar fans are hicks. Carry on.
NFL playoffs and superbowl FOR LIFE baby.
World Cup for the tie.

The first two rounds of March Madness. Every year there are huge upsets with players from small schools achieving greatness on the national stage, and there is so much anticipation and tension. People love watching underdogs overachieve.
The later rounds can be exciting, too, but few Cinderellas make it past the Sweet 16.
If NCAA football would go to a playoff system instead of the stupid BCS, they would beat March Madness. This year is a good example, where it is probable that at least one or two of the undefeated mid-major teams will not even be given a chance to compete in a BCS bowl game. The great historical sporting events like The Miracle on Ice or Villanova's championship victory over Georgetown aren't even possible in NCAA football.

Duuuuude, I was in Mexico on my senior trip when the U.S. beat Mexico and it was crazy. Mind you, I was hammered drunk and shit talking in slurred spanish but thankfully our bartender was a smoking hot Argentenian chick who didn't get too pissed off. However, the walk back to the hotel was like a warzone as people where throwing shit in streets. I also almost got eaten by an alligator. Looking back, I may have gotten some of the details mixed up.
