a carved teak marionette censer ~ Carved of a single piece of polished teak, the censer is crafted into the image of a slender marionette lying prone. Ebon paints form the delicate features of the face, which are fashioned to imply a sleeping maiden. Segmented arms rest to either side of a narrow body that is covered in an indigo gown with an etched bodice. A halo of bright yellow-painted curls rings the face and a pointed hat of pink completes the image.
