View Full Version : Collected Sorcerer Guildhouse info.

It has occurred to me that there are a great many things to know about the various Sorcerer Guildhouses around Elanthia, each with their own ins, outs and oddities. I thought we might begin to compile a list that people can refer to in the future with items of note about each one, such as the portal behind the stairs in the Icemule guildhouse, that there is no guild shop in the Solhaven guildhouse, or how to operate that blasted scrying orb in the Gyldemar branch. (I'm not actually certain of this one myself.) Whatever cool and interesting info you may have, from syntax to what needs to be phased to go where, let's start here and we can consolidate it.

I am also rather sensitive to the notion that some puzzles are meant to be figured out on your own, so if anyone feels inclined to argue for or against certain solutions not being posted, I think this is a good place to do it. If you do have solutions you personally feel are "spoilers" of a sort just post them in white or whatever makes you feel most comfortable and we can hash it out later. Thanks for your time and info!

yes, and I'm contributing my maps, sorry you take issue with that

Beee nice. Let's wait til he/she's at 10 posts before we give him/her a good old fashioned PC welcome.

You're cool, man (woman?). I had ya pegged for just miswording or misunderstanding that first response right off the bat.

A word to the wise though: A lesson you're gonna learn if you stick around on the PC - Don't publicly apologize for anything. We've got a large number of trolls here who will jump on any and every little slip up you make in wording and twist it around to create strife. Sadly, I'd say the people that appreciate a post like the one you just made there are outnumbered by the people who'll just try to run you off because of it.

Edit to add:

Allereli isn't one of the ones that'll try to twist things around. I don't mean to suggest that. I'm just saying in general.

Eh, we don't really retract posts much here. Go ahead and leave it up. Think of it as a public conversation. Allereli's not a bitch. I'm sure she read it as I'm sure it could have been read by me, but I can say with confidence she's not gonna have an issue after the rest of your posts.

To say something on topic:

The more information you can come up with on a moderately to heavily used piece of the game that isn't already there all in one place, the better off we'll all be. I commend your efforts.

Perhaps clarity is in order. If you have any information as to the inner workings of any of the Sorcerer Guildhouses, please post it and I will do my best to start making up listings compiling all of that intersting info.

Info that I am currently interested in acquiring:

Operations of the scrying orb in Gyldemar. (Nameless Necromancer's Journal suggests modulation of the frequencies of various crystals...)
Use of the tubs in the Landing guildhouse. (Using the pipe, various forms of syntax)
These are the only two guilds I've spent any significant time playing with, but every guild has its own areas of interest and notation of these places and various quirks are my goal, so please contribute any knowledge.

P.S. By the by, has anyone else had an issue with buying the Enchiridion off of the stand in Gyldemar? Notes are not accepted, and at 75000 silvers, I am too overloaded to purchase it.

The note issue seems to have been fixed in the landing. Might want to bug the room.

From what I have heard about the Illistim defense system, the scrying orb in the Ta'Illistim Guild sounds very similar. But, I have never had a character in a position to get the Illistim defense tour, so I could be WAY off.

I have been busy for the past few days, so I haven't been here much. I did get an assist from a GM on the Gyldemar Enchiridion, finally, and was told that it was working as intended, then I proceeded to strip off everything I own, hand it all over and still couldn't buy the thing, to which they kind of shrugged and told me to try bugging the room to see if the coder in charge of it could or would do something about it. Bleh. I'm not mad at them, it isn't their item, but it was a bit frustrating when they told me to just take off everything I was wearing, I should be able to buy it. That's a work-around, not a solution. It would require a giantkin sorcerer to buy that thing, I am fairly certain.

Edited to add:
On a small side note, it was somewhat amusing to be standing stark naked in the Gyldemar (I refuse to acknowledge it as Illistim, even if I do get the 25% trading penalty) guildhouse, trying to buy a book.

That is much better than being stark naked and trying to visit the tomb of the Nameless Necromancer. If one is attempting to bring the romance and passion back into the art of Necromancy, I suggest a visit to the Nedum Vereri in the Temple of Love. :bananahit:
