Did/Do any of you guys train in a secondary weapon type?

Any Recommendations? I'm about to reroll my rogue. since it completely sucks ass to hunt. and i can't pick my main char's boxes anymore. due to never playing the rogue.

Right now i'm leaning towards brawling.

Also, given my lack of familarity of ranged combat, Is ambush a good thing to train in?

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

This is my rogue at 17

IMO its the best way to train a ranged rogue if you want to triple in picking.

i went for brig asap going to wait a while before I start training in armor again as I wanted to use brig as soon as possible so i will now have more points to dump into dodge. going to try and double dodge or at least 1.5x it it leaves room for a lot of moving things around as this way of hunting is very flexible just gotta find stuff that is not resistant to puncture.

My character used to have brawling as he was in Voln. It was nice to continue fighting undead that way without having to bless arrows. I've since switched to sunfist, dropped brawling, and found myself a perma-blessed elemental bow so undead hunting isn't much of an issue.

Follow Solitare's recommendation. but I'd suggest getting some CMAN skills as it does help later on

the 25 ranks in MIU/AS/HP is for spellburst with this training currently my rogue can wear in spellburst 101, 103, 107, 202, 601, 401, 406, 414, 503, 509 and a small statue....his DS in offensive stance is 350ish...330ish without a small statue which does not count against spell burst...but at 86 he can hunt temple nelmar sniping solo...and is effective in group hunts as well...

PS- MOC is something i've never gotten rid of since i fixskilled into range...and am actually glad i did not get rid of those ranks because of the swarms that tend to happen in OTF/Nelemar the help i get from recovering from the swarms is actually very nice..takes about a group of 5 or so to really get a push down that actually hurts me even though i can't completely get rid of an extra critter in the group fully i still recover much faster than a person without MOC

Well, i don't plan on doing any lockpicking at all. so i'm guessing, i could dump the points into bow stuff, and cman if able, right?

Well, like it always is: it's work in progress.

My ranger is training pretty much the way everyone has recommended... looking to be a ranged/Voln Fu combo.

Is it safe to say that everybody sucks with a bow for the first few levels?

Be a man and 2x edge/thrown :D

Hurling handaxes is so much cooler than shooting arrows.
