If you haven't read the book series, do so, you will not be disappointed.

No!!!! Oh god, tell me you're joking, if they make these books into a series they are only going to ruin them. :(

I can't wait! I'm very much looking forward to A Dance with Dragons coming out. This is one of my all-time favorite series.

As an HBO series?

I might have to switch so I can record that...

Martin plans seven books. If HBO picks up the project to series, the producers intend for each novel to encompass a season.

Sweet.

If it makes it past the other series competition and lands a series slot, I'm definitely changing my movie channel subscription to HBO.

HBO makes the best shows on television, they tend to not ruin anything.

Pick up HBO's Rome on DVD and tell me that that isn't good stuff. ASOIAF is very similar to Rome in storytelling style, the show should be similar.

I'll have to pick it up, Thank you for the suggestion. I just love this series so much, every time a book comes out I re-read the whole series. I would hate to see it messed up by anyone.

I've been sending them emails saying they must pick this up or I'll cancel my account because all the shows they have now are crap. So basically it's all me.

Hips

Old news. I'm really looking forward to it, though.

Actually no, it isn't old news. GRRM himself only found out yesterday.

The old news is that HBO optioned the series. This is the news that they have green lit production of a pilot ie - they're going to start casting and filming and designing sets and all that good stuff. Meaning, we'll atleast get a pilot. Its just 1 approval away from a full series.

LOTR was optioned in the 1970s and how long did it take for us to get the movies? So... this is a big step.

Anybody at all they get to play Jon Snow is gonna be a let down for me. :(

I sure hope this turns out better than the Dragonlance cartoons.

Don't bring those up. I haven't seen them, I saw the trailer, that was enough. Fuckers.

I don't understand why people get so attached to Jon Snow, I haven't defined him in my head much to tell you the truth. I couldn't care either way.

Mostly I just hope that they do not allow anyone who has been in a Narnia movie to audition. It is important they hire actors who can actually act.

You know who'd be perfect as Sandor? Mickey Rourke. Seriously, fucking perfect. If you haven't seen Sin City watch it, he is Marv.

Make it in England or NZ. Don't ruin it with American Captain America Actors.
