I am selling pair of 6x battle worn brigandine armor that had temporary incredible crit padding added at EG.The merchant said the higher the tier of padding the longer it will last, tier 3 was the highest available and thats what was put on the armor. There was not any more precise information about how long the padding will last.

How long does the temporary padding last? and how do you know when it wears off? and what does it look like?!?

Edit: I asked this before he edited =)

This doesn't make any sense, and I'm pretty sure you misunderstood the merchant. They wouldn't make MORE padding last LONGER. You get more padding for less hits, or less padding for more hits.

I think this is partly true, but there are also tiers to the temp. padding/weighting system. Say you can get anywhere from Heavy to Incredible padding, and tier 1 to tier 3 padding. Heavy tier 1 padding would be the cheapest, while lasting quite short. Heavy tier 3 padding would likely last the longest (being the highest tier and lowest amount of padding available). Incredible tier 1 padding woud last the shortest of them all, being the heaviest padding and the lowest tier... etc etc.

At least, that's what I've gathered from hearing dozens of people talk about it. So from what I understand, you're both right in a way. Bard song will let you know how many "charges" are left, but with tier 3 padding, there's a smaller chance a charge will be used each time you're hit in combat, so they last longer that way.

I see. I was going off what I (thought I) knew about the temp sighting, which was that tier X was heavy weighting for ~15k charges, tier y was incredible weighting for ~5k charges (or something along those lines). There isn't a separation of amount to duration within a tier, it's static.

The more padding you get, the less life it has. The end.

That's what I thought! I'll trust bot on this one.

Its only my opinion, but its not worth any more than normal 6x brig.

It wears off at some point.

I love temporary services, they are great, if YOU are getting something done for yourself. Its awesome for people who don't already have high end stuff, and opens a lot of doors for the GMs to make new services and shops. Heck, I wish they'd use it on shop items. Base 4x axe, temp 6x and hcw for 1m. Be awesome, as you can release a higher end item with a fixed lifetime, and not permanent.

Unlike enhancives though, is no way to recharge them, so at some point, you just got base 6x brig (or whatever), and that is that.
