Does anyone have any suggestions for what they use to keep their interior car windows nice and clean?
We bought a brand new 2009 car in September. I don't smoke, but the windows seemed to get a film on them in a short period of time.
I used some of those Windex wipes, but of course I missed some spots so they look streaked.
What do you use?

I get the car cleaned and detailed about 3-4 times a year for $40. Saves me time and frustration.

Put Rain-X on both the inside and the outside. It'll prevent fogging and smudging on the inside, though the windows will be slightly glossy to the touch for about a week, and you won't even NEED windshield wipers in the rain for like two months after you put it on the outside because it just works that well.

I use the windex wipes and never have a problem really.
There's a product called invisible glass, available at pretty much all auto parts stores, likely wall mart and the like as well. If you have window tint, do not use windex, or any cleaner with amonia as it will cause the tint to discolor over time. Get a couple microfiber towels to wipe the windows off with, one to get the window cleaner off, the second to wipe off any streaks that might remain.

I put rain-x on my truck and it didn't do shit. I've seen it on other people's cars where you don't need the wipers, so I do know it works... maybe I just suck at detailing.

What the hell are you doing inside that car if the windows are getting a film on the inside? To quote Family Guy "Roll the window up you're letting the stank out."
If you went with the double broiler option as a feature for your new ride that would do it other than that I'm not sure how you're mucking up your windows unless you've got a pair of twin carpet critters like mine that insist on touching your windows right after you've cleaned them (the fuckers).

It depends on how old the Rain-X is. It doesn't have an expiration date on it, but if you put a bottle that's a year old on half your windshield and a new one on the other half, you're going to notice a HUGE difference.

I'll just throw my support behind this. Invisible glass is without a doubt the best thing for cleaning windows. Once you use it, you'll never use Windex again.

I will always have fond memories of Rain-X. Spray on all the white boards and overheads at the school in your senior year of HS, watch the pen ink evaporate and the teachers go fucking nuts!
I really wish I could find a Rain-X product for a soft top. You aren't supposed to use it on the plastic, but I can't see out my back windows if it rains, and I can't scrape them when it freezes.

get a cat to live inside of your car..it will lick the windows clean for you... coat them in fish oil first.

I love rain-x. Although I call bullshit on the not needing wipers for 2 months statement. A month tops i'd say, from my experience. A brand new bottle tho is like $5 bucks so that's not a huge deal. Anyway, did you make sure your window was really clean before putting it on? That can make a difference.

Plain water. I swear, no streaking at all and sparkling clear windows. Best part is that you don't need to spend a cent.

Application method is very important. Otherwise you'll fuck it up and it wont work.

Just make sure they see you putting the dollar bill into the tip box so the Mexicans clean your windows to the best of their ability.
And if you're getting cum-encrusted windows after a day of leaving your new car parked (doing jacksheeot) then something is not adding up here. That doesn't even make sense, much like Chewbacca living on a planet inhabited mainly by Ewoks.

That's not normal. If you're having any issues with your car overheating, with your heat, or a slightly sweet smell you can't put your finger on, it's entirely possible you have a heater core issue. I'd take it to the dealer and have it checked.
And I like good old Windex for cleaning my car windows.

I don't know if this would apply but when I was in AZ it was so dusty down there that the inside of my windows would get very dirty very quickly. Do you live in a dusty area? Or I dunno, travel on dirt roads often with your vents open?

I am going with the heater core issue as well. If the film on the glass is oily it can't be much else.

Naw, the car seems like it's running very well. It still has that new car smell, so nothing sweet there.
It's not a thick oily film or anything that I consider out of the ordinary. As someone suggested - perhaps dusty - I live in Ohio and it's possible that my trip into West Virginia about 3 weeks ago might have adversely affected the windows. (Especially in light of the number of republicans and rednecks in the area..) Seriously, I was on some back roads in SE Ohio, so that might be the source.
I think that it's just my own idiosyncrasy concerning the windows not being streaked.
Thanks for the info.
