Subject says it all. Really prefer fire or lightning flares, but willing to compromise. Suggestions for the best place to acquire such an item?

I think I've got a 4x nagi with rebalance flares knocking around somewhere, if you're interested.

1) How much?
2) What the heck are "rebalance" flares?

Good question! I'm afraid I don't know the answer. Would anyone care to chime in?

This is the awl-pike I got for Gordd.

You concentrate intently, focusing all your energies.
You explode into a fury of strikes and ripostes, moving with a singular purpose and will!
You thrust with a perfect vultite awl-pike at a massive pyrothag!
AS: +401 vs DS: +211 with AvD: +32 + d100 roll: +24 = +246
... and hit for 124 points of damage!
Lucky shot rips through bone and muscle sending weapon arm flying.
It is difficult to tell if the massive pyrothag even realizes that its right arm is missing.
The pyrothag's glaes club falls to the ground.
The massive pyrothag is stunned!

You feint to one side, then crack the massive pyrothag with a hard shot! Suddenly, you reverse direction, and strike the massive pyrothag again with the butt of your vultite awl-pike!
... 20 points of damage!
Blow raises a welt on the massive pyrothag's left arm.

You reverse your awl-pike again, and sweep the massive pyrothag off its feet!
You thrust with a perfect vultite awl-pike at a massive pyrothag!
AS: +401 vs DS: +143 with AvD: +32 + d100 roll: +64 = +354
... and hit for 215 points of damage!
Blow cracks a rib and punctures a lung.
Breathing becomes a challenge.

The massive pyrothag vibrates violently one final time and then lies still.

Your series of strikes and ripostes leaves you winded and out of position.
Roundtime: 11 sec.

From what I understand...

The chance to activate the feinting flare is 20%. MOC does not influence the flare, it flares like a normal flare.

If you have 50 ranks of MOC and the flare activates, you have a 33% chance of also doing the tripping maneuver.

If you have 100 ranks of MOC and the flare activates, you have a 66% chance of also doing the tripping maneuver.

To be honest, you could just buy a regular naginata and keep it e-bladed. The flares are almost as frequent as merchant flares, and it would cost you next to nothing.

The cost for adding flares to naginatas via the auto flarer was insane. I've got a few 4x naginatas in lockers (Mostly steel, one nice ora one) all unflared though.

Rimalon is borrowing my nice shiny 4x naginata with fire flares.

I've been doing this, but seeing as how I can't cast 411 myself and mages are hard to find in TV (also I hate being reliant on other people for spells I want to have full-time access to), I'm less-than-satisfied with this strategy in the long run.

I had a feeling this was the case =\

Gordd - thank you for that clip! So as I understand it, for me, with no MoC, this is a regular 4x flaring naginata with non-elemental flares?

I picked up a 4x naginata at Ebon Gate when I won a raffle for adding switchable flares to a weapon from the merchant's shop only.

The flares I have for it are ice and vacuum. I'm not sure if I'd be interested in selling it. I do believe that most 4x flaring naginatas from the flare adding that went on a month or two back cost nearly a mil (give or take some) to get done.

I figure I wouldn't even entertain offers under 5mil, just because I'm attached to the weapon and I plan on using it with one of my characters.

I'd expect you'd be looking close to spending 1.5-2mil on the low end for a 4x flaring naginata.

They took close to 2m to flare at the auto-flarer, more for lightning.
