+32 is considered 7x most of the time, so i'm going to have to go with the 9x estimate.

+42 is closer to 8x (8 x 5 = 40) than 9x (9 x 5 = 45).
I think if its above +40, it then is considered 9x.
Sort of like how mithglin, which is +18, is usually referred to as 4x and imflASS, which is +12, usually referred to as 3x. Or you could be a nerd and call it 2.5x. Whatever.
I hate math anyways :)

People are stupid. +42 means it has taken a 9x enchant to get it that high, with +47 being the highest attainable for that weapon which would require a 10x enchant. So in wizard lingo, +42 is 9x. Also x's are a fictitious thing, so it really doesn't matter what "x" a weapon is, it's +42.
