Ive got that one beat...I once had it suggest Cum as a name. If there was any way to prove to the GM who would have locked me out for using that name that their server suggested it, I'd have taken it in a heartbeat

::laughs:: Those were all pretty good names. I really liked that one girl that ran around in Landing a few years ago nammed Lemmefuku. She kept reciting something about needing to get laid. Surprisingly, she lasted a few hours before someone pulled her out.

There was a guy named "Schlong" running around. It took me 4 reports to finally get Khaladon to understand why it was bad....

My friend called Zulugoth to my attention the other day. That's a real creative name.;) heh.

I don't think the names are really policed anymore, not at the moment anyway.

You look at yourself carefully in the pine-framed mirror...

You see Tigerwuudz Ballsmusher the Gamekeeper.
He appears to be a Human.
He appears to be very young. He has hazel eyes and nut brown skin. He has short, curly black hair.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a steel grey club in his left hand.
He is wearing a large reinforced bag, some bright white shoes, some plain black pants, a shiny red shirt, a plain black cap, and a dark green jacket.

Snicker.

Dunno how old Fetish is.

I always find it amusing when people name their characters after bands.

Dimmu Borggir is a character in Gemstone. Dimmu Borgir is also a band. He's probably near 50.

Jealousy is/was a character.

I used to keep a list, but since I turned my logins off, I don't see them anymore.

There are tons of medication names out there. You got Alesse, which is a birth control pill. I've seen Perkiset (Percocet), Ketamine (special K), and Fencyclydine (close to PCP). Drugs apperently are fine within GS.

Pridenjoy is another I dont care for

Seen *Waldo2 bites the dust a while back too. Yeah, I know, he is older than dirt. Name still sucks.

Deathlore is an ok guy, bad name. Lots of Deathsomethings, darksomethings, and mispelled words like Adrenilyn floating around constantly as well.

People have told me they hated my name before. I dont think its ban worthy, but its no gem. Its pronounced Dine BTW. Didnt pick that because of all the flak I would receive.

I dont bother to report OOC/Mispelled/Ect names. I just shudder and drive on.

If Beau's name is the worst you've ever seen, you really need to get out more.

Worst one I ever saw was Analprobe. Funniest one was Snotrag.

(I picked Beau's first name the way I get all my character names, it's one of my cats. The last name was after hours of rolling to get half decent stats, then at least another hour of 'sorry that name is unavailable'. When it actually accepted TheDancer I said Thank God and went with it. I've had the character since 1996, she's level 71 and a damned good picker. Sorry you hate her name, but deal with it.)

I think Cain's problem with the name Beaujangles TheDancer is that there was a guy, nicknamed Bojangles, who was a famous dancer. When he entered movies some decades after he began dancing, Bojangles became a stereotype (think old dancing black man), which has tarnished his reputation since, not that it was his fault or anything, just not alot of starring, non-subservient roles for blacks in early movies.

By the way, Creamygoodness was by far one of the crappiest names Ive seen, though, of course, my roomates used to have the name "Off", and we would run around beating him. Never got a response worth a damn though.

If you were doing it using the act that's fine. But if you tried to use punish, it was changed so that only the punisher and punishee see it.

edited so I can tell those who dont know, when you "punished" someone, it would say "XXXX beats XXXX severely", if I remember correctly. You can take it from there.

Except... She was on the dais, yakking with folks and opening their boxes, being VERY IC... And out of the blue some self righteous puffed up toad of a 'real roleplayer' whispers to her about how its a shame 'you didn't use your obvious wit and imagination' to come up with a decent name.

My first thought was to fall on my knees before him, thanking him for noticing my name and pointing it out, thus saving me Voln only knows how many more years of walking around with that name, I'll reroll immediately and by the way in gratitude for you pointing it out here's all my stuff since as a level 0 I won't be able to hold it anymore.

My second response was to whisper 'thanks for the roleplay asshole' and decide hell would freeze over and the devil deport himself on ice skates before I'd ever hide my last name.

I went with door number two. The character has a symbol of a sword dancer embroidered on most of her clothing and tattooed on her skin. TheDancer I see as a nickname given her calling as a sword dancer and not as a last name. If other people lack the wit to go there and would be more pleased to point fingers and recall the softshoe artist or the old song all I can think is that they're the ones bending over backwards to be OOC. Obviously they're happier being OOC than IC. Since playing a game should make you happy, or at least bring enjoyment, I'm glad then that I was able to bring even this rather petty type of enjoyment into their obviously unhappy lives. They'd probably get more joy out of actually meeting and talking with Beau, but... Whatever floats their boat.
