The concert was fucking A good.

We were in the SRO section at stage level, about 100 feet back from center stage. I picked up 2 willie shirts ($90), one for me and one as a gift for my Dad (who got me started on Willie way back when).

House of Blues is a very cool place. Great layout.

Willie opened up with Whiskey River (of course) and closed with Whiskey River. He covered all of his hits, did not sing any of the 'horsemen' songs :( but thats ok - it was still good. He even sang some Hank Williams Sr. bits. His voice is not what it used to be, so his singing duration vs. talking with music was evident in some places as well as his vocal range.

He came onstage about 10pm and sang until 11:30pm.

And of course I had his CD in the car as a primer to driving there and back home. ;)

Oh, since we knew it would be packed, we ate at Goode Company BBQ just to make it a complete country night.

And yes, I wore my boots. No hat though. I retired my hats a long time ago (when I stopped riding horses).

I'll have to refer some people to a comment about jokes, proctologists, and internet forums.

If someone gets bent out of shape over a joke ... and turns the statement into something other than what was originally .... they, and the support that rushes in with the pom poms, need a proctologist more than they do internet access.
