The dikar'fyn rune is used to unlock spells 25th level or below, for 25 potential charges. Runestones with this rune are used in conjunction with the Scroll Infusion (714) spell, and may be created by any sorcerer with knowledge of it.

A fresh dikar'fyn rune will contain 6 charges.
Holding the runestone in one hand, and the scroll you wish to unlock in the other, wave it at the scroll.

these only hold one charge, but a charging merchant might be able to work on them

Damn, 1 charge.

I don't know shit about 714, but that sounds pretty insane. How many charges do normal runestones have, and how many charges does it let add?

Like Allereli said maybe we might get a merchant to work on it in the future. Currently there are no spells on scrolls, except some of the very old 420 scrolls that would warrent the use of this charge. Maybe this will change in the near future.

So you got something you can barely use with 1 charge? It's not something that you can like learn the rune from the stone and rescribe it on other stones later?

it's not much, and we've expressed out disappointment with that. But on the other hand, they've never been released before at all

Not to knock the win. Congrats btw. But if I won one I wouldn't know what to do with it. My friend said he had a 225 scroll but he doubts its still infusable. Hopefully they'll release some 25 level scrolls soon.

we're all well aware they're pretty useless until we can get them charged.

Yeah, sadly I doubt any of the existing 225 scrolls are unused. That would be required. I wonder if it'd be possible to talk them into letting dikar'fyn runestones unlock scrolls that normally cannot be unlocked. It's unlikely, but hey, it's worth a shot!

utter glue sniffing lameness, they finaly release the damn rune after next to NO scrolls exist any more that would require the use of the rune to infuse, and are still able to be unlocked. Epic FAIL... I mean !!CHEER!! way to go GM's in charge!!! Hooray, Mazel Tov & all that to!

Ya, in the end, it isn't that useful. All > 25 scrolls are treasure system special drops or from merchants, most of them are really old, and are assuredly locked.

Our only hope is likely someone who say quit in GS3 with one of the scrolls in his locker and then comes back and reactivates and doesn't use said scroll until he learns that 714 now exists and he should find one of 10 sorcerers who'll be able to handle it.

Heck they could let us atleast learn the rune. Not like there are a ton of scrolls out there that we can use it on. For now it sits in my locker collecting dust.
