I don't play full tilt, but since I'm not near Atlantic City anymore I find myself wanting for a good grind.

What's the playerbase like? There a decent number of fish chipping cash games? And are there a lot of reckless idiots throwing money at pots they shouldn't?

I don't play cash games online. Never seem to go well. I play the 45 player tournaments and some of the larger tournaments.

From what I can tell its the best online poker site. Lots of pros on at all times and they even play in the tournaments. Knock a pro out and you get $75 bucks.

Also, Phil Ivey and some others have a big game called Rail Heaven. Blinds are $500 and $1000 and they usually buy in anywhere from 50k-200k. Its a lot of fun to watch. You'd be amazed at how some of these guys play.

Its great when the fucking thing doesn't crash when you're 4th in chips in a tournament.

Be amazed I might, but I don't think I'll play there. My patrol lies wherever there's a convention, and fresh fish who think casino poker's the same as their home games. Pokerstars is probably my best option. They've got more amateurs there than you can count. Only issue is they're so goddamn random it's hard to grind. I despise online poker on the whole, but I might dabble a little for small money and fun here in the next couple weeks. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

If you ever want some strategy tips based strictly on betting styles and numbers, feel free to PM me. I'm a face to face player for the most part, but I can hold my own with the pros on the numbers too.

Until they refuse a payout someday and you're screwed.

I had a question. I downloaded the fulltilt setup but never installed it because gemstone distracted me too much.

If you crash in a tournament like this, do they automatically eject you from it? Or is it like a RL tournament, where they'll just start blinding you off if you say, take a 20 minute lunch during a 10 minute break between rounds?

The tournament I was in was a 45 player $24 buy in, so the prize pool was $1080. There were 14 people left and they divided up the prize pool evenly among us. I profited $53, not bad, not great.

In Shaft's situation it was a server crash to Full Tilt apparently did what they needed to do to make sure everybody that was still in got something out of it. In a situation where just you crash I assume they blind you out. Pokerstars does that I know. It just makes sense. Not everybody has a 100% stable internet connection, so you've got to plan for a few drops every now and again.

It stands to reason they'd blind you down as well, since that's how it works in real tournaments. You can stand from the table, hit the buffet, take a shower, whatever. I know people who don't even show for the BEGINNING of tournaments sometimes because they don't want to sit through the initial rush where like 20% of the people get knocked out going all in in the first few hands.

Edited to amend: Well, they have to show up for the beginning of the tournament, but they'll get their chips, take their seat, and then stand up before a hand is ever dealt.
