Can you still use a wired connection with a wireless router? I loaned my old PC to my gf to use til her new one shows up and it just has a normal Network card. Can't still run it the old way into the router?

Yes, if you look at the back of your wireless router (Or even modem) you should see one or more RJ-45 connectors. (They look like fat phone cord plugins).
Just use an ethernet cable (Cat-5) and plug it in. It should recognize the connection. If it doesn't, try rebooting your router, and then your computer.
Once in a great while, you'll have to reboot your modem, then your router, then your computer.

Just plug it in and it will work.
