The highest bottle deposit I know of is $0.10, which would mean $1,000 of beer = 2140 beers; the more common deposit of $0.05 would be 4280 beers. If you're getting more than 4 cans of beer per dollar spent, you need to rethink what you're drinking. And, of course, way more states don't have a bottle deposit at all than the ones that do.

I know nothing about scrap material prices so I'll let someone else take over:
*There is approximately 14.7 grams of Al in a beer can.
*One kilogram is approximately 2.205 pounds.
*The scrap price of Al is between 80 and 82 cents per pound as of 9/26.
I calculate that the scrap aluminum from 1 can of beer is worth about 2.593 cents, so using anon's estimation of 1500 cans of PBR (Oh, the humanity!), you'd be left with about 39 bucks worth of salvageable aluminum. Further, it would weigh nearly 50 pounds and take up the bed of an average pickup truck.
But at least you'd have the beer...

Yah but recycling isnt scrapping, its a deposite on the can. Its actually punitive to not recycle because you pay it when you buy the can and lose it when you dont recycle it. Its actually an arbitrary fine for not giving a shit about the enviornment not an estimate of scrap value.
a buck for every 24 cans, lets say case @5 cents would round to a dollar. I have actually seen a case of PBR cans for 15 bucks recently. So 1000/15 = 66 bucks

1 gram = .0022 lb.
14.7 gram can = .032 lb.
Recycle Price per can = $.028 (2.8 cents per can) using 2007 data.
Average Price of 12 pack of Bud Light in 2007 = $9.00 (based on what prices I could google)
$1,000.00 of beer in non-bulk volume (12 pack cases) = 111.1 cases
111.1 cases = 1,333.2 cans of beer
1,333.2 cans at recycle price of $.028 per can = $37.33
