Hey, I want a good (free) thing that takes songs off my CD's and puts them into my computer. I googled and got something like the 1-2-3 WIN ripper or something. It said it couldn't find a CD-ROM drive on my comp. I know I have some kind of CD drive, seeing as how I can play CD's, but it also plays DVD's and claims to be a CD-RW drive. So how do I make it work?

I have also been using my registered version of real software from player to jukebox. Jukebox is nice, can record into multiple formats. I typically record into mp3 format at 128 bit rate, though an option of 96-360 is available.

Musicmatch Jukebox for me. There is a free version of it available somewhere, not sure where though.

Bob, it made .wma's. Now it wants me to pay 10 bucks to get an mp3 plug in. As I'm sure you've surmised, that's no good. I mean, they seem to play alright, but it offends me to have multiple extensions that do the same thing.

Musicmatch Jukebox Basic is indeed free. It takes a hell of a long time to install, but hey, what did I expect. Oh, now it wants me to restart? Hell no. I'll try it later.

Thanks for the tips!

I wouldn't know, I don't exactly buy CDs, let alone rip them.

Shame on you and your non-functioning avatar.
