When the owner goes on trips.
Well tonight I was watching some football and MMA in one of the empty rooms when all hell broke loose.
One of the rooms caught on fire from an electrical outlet whilst dude was in the shower.. no I didn't look at his wang as he ran for his life.
The entire place was engulfed in smoke and plastic fumes I had to get about 20 wet paper towels over my mouth and nose to put it out and open the windows. How the bed didn't go up I'll never know.
Fun shit. I should have been a fire firefighter.
Now I've got a serious headache and throat burn. Eyes burn as well.
Bunch of shit but good times as well.

If his wang never entered your mind, you never would've mentioned this. You totally looked, didn't you?

No.
However it totally entered my mind and my instincts took over and I look at like the ceiling. Kidding instincts did take over and I went in and dragged that guy out to the sidewalk with him kicking and screaming.
Drew would have been in heaven I'm sure... in fact the guys name is Drew as well....... coincidence... I think not.

I picture the guy running out in crab position from this info.

Obviously "kicking and screaming" is a figure of speech but I dragged him out whilst he was raising hell. He had no idea what was going on. His mother was in shock and shaking.
She's the one that came to me and told me there was a fire. She was so calm "There's a fire in my room ya know"... That's when I kicked into freak out mode. Her son was in the shower.
The smoke was so bad I had to retreat at my first attempt and get wet towels for my mouth before going back in to get him. My eyes and throat are still burning and I still smell burning plastic and shit. Must be hell to be a firefighter.

Funny how the mother didn't bother to tell her son about the fire... and just left him in the shower. What kind of mother would do that?

One that started the fire? :)

So, she purposely started the fire (and since she didn't tell her son, possibly to kill him), then went to get help? Mmmmkay, guess it could happen. Kinda hard to believe though, imho.
Plus, first he ran for his life and then Sean2 had to drag him out while he raised hell? I dunno, it just sounds contradictory.

She said she did but he wasn't listening. This a motel keep in mind.. most tenants are not "normal".
I heard the fire alarm and her initial scream from 8 rooms down. Lol I laughed it off at first... "huh? naahhhhhh" went through my head while I kept watching football.
The shitty part is I helped her move all their shit to another room which included randomly scattered dirty panties with smegma.

You guys are cutting this up too deeply.
The dude wouldn't leave his room he was trying to grab work clothes of all things. The fire wasn't huge the smoke was the serious problem.
I had to literally force him out of the room by grabbing his arm and then shoving him out the door.
All he was concerned with was his work clothes and getting to work. The mother was just plainly in a state of shock.

I've stayed in a shitton of motels. How exactly are most people staying in motels not "normal".

You haven't been to this motel?
Until season hits this month with the snow birds the people that stay here are normal I guess by some standards but freak show sums it up. Not that I'm judgmental about that shit.
I just took a picture of the culprit. The AC unit was plugged into this behind a bed.

Ok, so that motel attracts freaks for some reason. Don't be a tard though and call motel-goers in general "not normal". ;)

I stand by my statement after a few years dealing with it.
Crack heads.. hookers.. cheaters... meth eaters... people who fucked up something and need a shit hole to stay in.. kids after homecoming like tonight.
I could extend the list further if you like. Of all the rooms we have one family down from Mass and one up from Mexico the rest are all what I would put in the not "normal" category.
Oh well.

So if motels are for not normal people, where are normal people supposed to stay when they're traveling???
Maybe you could work out a deal with the motel guy to let you stay there if your housing situation doesn't improve, btw.

Already considered and not an option but thx.
*Plus I don't want to live around non normal people.

I'm pretty sure Sean wasn't being the manager of the local Hyatt Hotel... and more like "Billy's Hourly Rates Motel". Normal people don't stay at places like this.
And ffs Sean... PLEASE STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE BAY BECAUSE I DON'T NEED YOUR BAD LUCK SELF COMING OVER TOWARDS MY SIDE AND BRINGING YOUR PISS POOR LUCK WITH YOU.

Hyatt hotel != motel. That's the whole point. I've stayed at tons of motels (nightly, not hourly-rated), and i'm not a crack head, meth head, hooker, killer, whatever. There are plenty of normal people who can't afford a 150-200 dollar a night hotel, and therefore stay at motels (Econolodge, Motel 6, etc., and yes, even non-chains that are off a major highway.)

Well darling me and PB just spelled it out for you. Not sure how much further I can explain it as it's been readily put down already.

You didn't spell anything out. You misspoke and I called you on it, simple as that. You made a general blanket statement about all motels and how normal people don't stay at them. What you failed to say was that you really meant you were working at a by-the-hour fleabag that is not typical of most motels.
Don't be a retard, kk?

The obvious solution is to avoid tending to hotels that burst into flames while naked dudes prance around, durr.

Nah I told you how it is. It's not a by the hour it's a nice and normal motel that is reserved almost from October through the end of March.
I just told the story in typical Sean fashion and you failed to absorb the posts that followed. Not that I care.
However a few years experience with this and the majority of tenants with the exception of snowbirds are not NORMAL. That's the bottom line.

WEll I can see where she's coming from. One she has to deal with my flair. Two I was just like her when I was an occasional tenant at any motel but once you see it every day for a couple a years you tend to get the dealio with motels.
