Random thought I had as I was munching on some Lays this morning -- I have a really odd affinity for chips that get folded in half during processing. I don't know why. I hunt for them first whenever I open a new bag of chips.

Kind of reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine only ate the muffin tops.

Anyone else have an odd food habit?

Kraft mac-n-cheese fresh out of the pot when I'm cooking it, while the cheese sauce is still runny and the noodles have not had a chance to cool or dry out.

I'll eat the green m&m's first, they're my favorite.

I love salty pretzel sticks, and when I open a fresh bag or box, i'll search for the thinnest, saltiest, and most well-done sticks in there.

I like my popcorn kinda burnt. Not like charred or blackened, but kinda just barely turning a darker color with a hint of well-done flavor. I like certain other things well done/burnt that you wouldn't really think would be good burnt. Like well-done fajitas from Chili's. And kinda burnt but not burnt crispy fries.

Oh and I do that same thing with Kraft mac n cheese, but I don't think that's a food oddity. That shit gets gross fast, so you have to eat it all fast while it's still hot and creamy.

Oh yeah and on the rare occasion I get McDonald's breakfast, I get a bacon egg & cheese biscuit and I don't eat it like a sandwich. I open it up and eat it layer by layer, ripping it up piece by piece. First I eat the egg, then the bacon, then the cheese, and finally the biscuit.

I like muffin bottoms more.

When it comes down to eating habits, I've been known to frighten people. I've got an oral fixation- bite my nails, pencils, pens, people. You name it.

A good example: I was at the awards ceremony for a Model United Nations conference (I did win, hehe). I was so bored, though, that I started gnawing on my copy of the universal declaration of human rights booklet.

I consumed the entire thing.

Non-nutritive crude fiber, hooray!

I eat kiwis with the skin still on. I eat lemons that way, as well. I like anything fishy- asian food stores have some pretty nasty looking stuff (dried mini-sardines or something- those are a good one) that i'll eat by the handful.

I'm bizarre when it comes down to my eating.

I eat a lot of ice cream in the winter... I don't even know why but when it gets cold out I crave ice cream.

When I eat my cheeseburgers I eat them in a circular way, like one bite from each side all around, over and over, until I get to the center.

I eat my M&Ms in twos - must be the same color. Leftovers get tossed. Red ones are saved for last because they're the best.

I sort my french fries by size and eat them biggest to smallest (smaller ones are crunchier and taste better).

I always look for the brownest potato chips in the bag. (and the foldy puffy ones too) I also like my popcorn sort of burned. Anything with a shell... like M&Ms, I either suck off the shell or bite it off and suck the middle while it melts. I have tons more but I'm sure I've set myself up by using the word suck... so I'll end this for now.

Oh and I have a method for eating Kit Kat bars. I break off each Kit Kat and I proceed to bite off all the chocolate outside first. I start with each end, then take little bites down the sides (long ways). Then I try to get the chocolate off the top and bottom which is definitely harder, and I can rarely do it perfectly. Then I like to eat each wafer one by one, licking off the delicious icing filling stuff.

I do the same thing with McDonald's breakfast sandwiches - eating them layer by layer.

For snack mixes, I absolutely love the little brown bread slice shaped thingers. I'll pick them all out first, and then lament that there aren't any later on.

I generally hate sugared cereal, but every now and then I'll buy a box of Lucky Charms, eat all the marshmallows and toss the rest when they're all gone.

I order my burgers with everything then pull the pickles off. It's more to do with incompetence of the workers than a taste preference.

Hmmmm, is it an oddity to just shove food down your mouth without actually doing weird things to it first?

The only moderately odd thing I do is that if I have a meal of any sort with different dishes, I eat all the dishes separately, one at a time, in order of vegetables -> potatoes/starches-> meat. Cause the meat is the best.

Oh jeez.

When I eat HoHo's, I eat the chocolate layer around it first. Then I eat the cake part as the layer rolls around. So yeah I'm not normal and don't bite into it. I unravel it.

When I eat animal crackers, I bite the limbs off, then the head, then eat the rest of the body. Same principle with gummy bears.

For Kit Kats, I break them in half, then eat them layer by layer.

Boston cream donuts are my favorite. I bite into them then lick out all the cream from the middle, then eat the rest of the donut.

I'm so fucking weird.

I just order mine & take off w/e I don't want, too many flashbacks of when I was about 6 & very picky. My 'special ordered' burger would just be getting done after everyone else had ate & was sitting there tapping their foot.

I just taught my kids that if we did go to fast food they could just scrape the shit they don't want off. Much less hassle.
