He was supposed to be doing this "dive of death" shit after hanging upside-down in Central Park for three days. Basically a jump from 40 feet to the ground. As he was about to hit the ground, his safety harness stopped him. So he's staring up at the operator looking confused, some of the crowd starts booing, and then they pull him up and turn off the spotlight.

Meanwhile the commentator was saying, "How incredible! David Blaine just disappeared into the sky!"

He's a circus sideshow, not a magician.

So wait, he wasn't supposed to have a safety harness on? I'm confused, hehe.

I don't know. I can't imagine he'd do a finale magic trick like that with a safety harness like that. And the ground he was landing on looked like it was rigged to do something. It was obvious that something went wrong, judging from Blaine's reaction. You could also hear someone shouting "Pull him up!" over the confused silence and boo's from the crowd.

I watched all 2 frakking hours, and for what? To see him jump 40 feet with a harness on?

And yeah, when John Saunders was like "OH MY, DAVID BLAINE HAS JUST MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED INTO THE NIGHT SKY!" and then the credits rolled...

I want the last 2 hours of my life back.
