I got 92% after doing it 25 times. It seemed to me to get easier after the first 15 or so too. I also found that I was always right if I went with my first guess; the only times I got it wrong were when it was really close, and I hesitated and thought about the image I had just seen, and then decided to go against my initial thought.

How? I have a near photographic memory, so once I got used to it I was simply able to picture what flashed up after it went away. The 2-3 I missed after those 9 where when I was simply just being lazy.

I got an 84% on 25 tries but each and everyone I missed was within two of the other color (8 blue versus 6 yellow or 14 blue versus 13 yellow). Size of the dots is misleading a touch, too.

It says at least 25 times. The more times you take it the better sample it has to judge your ability. I would have been royally fucked at 25 simply because I'm tired as hell and it took me forever to get used to it.

Getting a larger sample size is NOT cheating, and since you care so much about the math, then you figure out everyone's score at 25 times. Cuz really no one else gives a damn.

I didnt say it got easier. I said I got used to the test. There is a difference. You are testing an innate ability here. This isn't something you can game or practice it. Some people adjust to things differently and that's why people use statistical analysis to great generalizations.

Your brain could be really good at picking it up when the dots are big but really shitty when they are close together. If you get 25 in a row with big spread out dots it will inflate your general ability and vice versa. That's why it's better to take a sample.

Let's consider this for a second. I'll use an analogy: you're taking a multiple choice test with 25 questions, assuming all questions are the same difficulty; someone else is taking the same caliber test as you, and they have 100 questions.

You miss one of your 25 questions. Your score is 96%. Your 'opponent' misses one of his questions. His score is 99%.

Did your opponent cheat because he answered more questions correctly at a higher rate than you did? Do you have any idea what the fuck you're talking about? Since all questions are the same difficulty, your chance of getting one wrong is always the same -- it's certainly harder to answer 99/100 correct than it is to answer 24/25 correct.

30 tests, was correct 83% of the time. I purposefully did a few more than 25 because I know I clicked on one color when I meant the other, so I wasn't really happy about my score being off :P

I really don't think it's cheating.

First, I'm with the statisticians. The more times the test is repeated, the more accurate the results are going to be. It's been explained.

Second, some people either naturally pick up on visuals or are trained in it. This is something I'm curious about with myself this week, since I'm teaching classes where I have to be able to SEE mistakes as people are performing various tasks...and I have to know exactly what these mistakes are so I can correct them. (And sometimes it's a very tiny action that I'm looking for.) Knowing that my eyes and brain are in this mode right now, I'm hoping I can take the test at the end of next week, after a break, to see if there's a difference and how big it is.
