This thread reminded me of something funny.

Where I used to work, sometimes we would need driving directions to someone's house. This lady lived way out in the country and she was giving me her directions: turn right at the church and go about a mile, turn left at the little store and go five miles, turn left at the dead dog in the road go about a 1/2 a mile and my house is the white one on the right. I just sort of sat there for a minute and then asked her about the dead dog and she said yes, it's lying at the end of my road and our road doesn't have a name.

Anyway, thought that was funny (not for the poor dog and we weren't sending someone out for the dog either). I always wondered if the vultures got it and our person got lost going out there.

Valid directions in the South... turn left at the dead dog in the road.

LOL believe me, I fought for that damned tree.

It was 'shading my mother's flower garden' so it always was in danger of being hacked down. Luckily, by the time I moved down here to florida, the shade from the tree had killed the flower garden, forcing my mother to move it to a different part of the yard and it was no longer an issue.
