question 1:

currently I am training my bard as a sonic user and somewhat casting as well as opposed to the pure style. Question being this does Air lore ranks and flaring for sonic weapons work like ambush works? IE: will 50 ranks at level 50 flare less often as 100 ranks at 100...where as with ambush it would be the same because of pushdown yada yada yada

question 2:

is lullabye's success rates ONLY INF? or is spell song ranks a factor as well?

The way air lore ranks work for sonic flares is that the lore ranks give an ADDITIONAL chance for the weapon to flare, on top of the base chance for it to flare the first time. Elemental flares of air--using the Impact critical table--are inherent to the weapon when swung at a non-undead opponent. So, with air lore ranks you can increase the chance for the weapon to flare TWICE in ONE swing. Look at Carabele's lore benefit chart here to see how many ranks are needed for each threshold: http://carabele.com/odds/LoreBenefits.htm

On question 2, I want to say that spellsong ranks is a factor. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

Lullabye is going to take spellsongs or level into account. Not sure which but there is no way INF can be the only factor.

It's all three. Level is the most significant factor, then INF bonus, then spellsongs.

Also, regarding sonic flares and air lore...

The air lore flare is COMPLETELY independent of the initial flare. Unlike the paladin plasma flare spell (I forget the name atm), you don't need the "normal" sonic flare to go off in order to get the second flare.

The chance for the "lore flare" to go off is based solely on how many ranks of air lore you have. Level has no impact.
