[Old Ta'Faendryl, East Market]
A twisted limb has snaked its way through a fissure in the crumbling wall, stretching its way into the open plaza. Twigs and branches claw at the crumbling stone on each edge of the gap, as if intent on forcing enough open space for the entire tree to enter. You also see a couple of half-elf arms, a scratched haon chest, a greater construct, the Kaelowyn disk, an Ithzir scout, a war griffin that is flying around, an Ithzir herald, an Ithzir initiate, an Ithzir janissary, an arrow, an arrow, an Ithzir herald, an Ithzir adept, a greater construct, a war griffin that is flying around, a greater construct and a twisted crystal-tipped staff.
Also here: Kaelowyn who is lying down, the body of Brielus who is lying down
Obvious paths: north, east, west
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

bump - posting the results of my last batch of gems after chiseling.
Started with 302 gems, appraised at 776431 silver.
Ended with 275 gems appraised at 899213 silver.
Average gem went from 2571 to 3270.
27% increase, and it took less then 20 minutes to chisel all 302 gems.

250 hours of chiseling and it's paid for itself. But you'd have to have 225,000 good gems.

12000 high end gems would do it.
Get 1m in gems each day for 4 months and its paid for. 4 hours a day... Would be pretty easy.

Thats also 120 days you could have been working at McD's tho. At 4 hours a day 5.50 an hour thats a net loss of $2640.

So you think a bunch of die hard GSers are going to stop playing alla sudden and go work at McDonalds? Please.
Plenty of people are hooked on this game, and this is just something to make that addiction better and give something back. How many other items in gemstone actually pay for themselves? Much less bring you more profit afterwards.

any bard trained to purify
AestheticDeath
10-22-2008, 12:44 AM
This goes beyond what a bard can do, double your fun.
Also its about 100x faster then a bard. So long as you have a slave healer.
And has a lower chance of busting the gem unless your bard is pretty old, like 49+ with 101 bard spells, and high manip lore.
Bards aren't items either!

Lies. Don't let them start thinking they're people. Soon they'll want the Vote. Then they'll want real rights too.

27% increase,
my bard knocks gems up 68% on average (over last 5000 gems)

true. but some people don't have a slave healer. also...finish a bounty, run a script for 10 minutes...run through 20-30 gems, end saturation, go finish another bounty.
And has a lower chance of busting the gem
wrong
Bards aren't items either!
wrong again!
All that being said, chisel + bard = uber $$$. That shit's just way the fuck outta my price range.
AestheticDeath
10-22-2008, 11:12 AM
You quoted half of it, it does indeed have a lower chance of busting the gem unless your bard is very very good at purifying. Which takes both levels and training.
And 27% increase on capped gems, probably makes almost as much income as 68% increase on shit gems fresh from the system.
Take a 7k diamond to 10k, then take the 10k to a possible 15k?
Bards may be text the same as items, but characters /= items. Characters require constant $ infusion to keep them going.
PS Buy my fucking broadsword already.
NocturnalRob
10-22-2008, 11:22 AM
it was a joke. Bards are characters, but I treat mine like an item. A gem-purifying, uber-sonic-disrupting item.
PS Lower the price already. It's a broadsword.
AestheticDeath
10-22-2008, 11:46 AM
The price is lower... last guy had it for 100m forever. The 8x exceptional bastard sword was priced at a 100 too.

Wish I could recall what kinda amethyst this was before I chiseled it.
The jeweler Kahlyr takes the faceted diamond and inspects it carefully before saying, "I'll give you 22286 for it if you want to sell."

and yes its hit (gem) with chisel, chisel needs to be in your weapon hand
and the real gem chisels are very old, and very rare, so it is doubtful you have one without knowing it
