As of friday some 12 days ago, my older brother has been missing. He is a recovering alcoholic who in his teenage years, roughly 15 years ago, was a severe manic depressive who was hospitalized for attempted suicide. An unfortunate event regarding the loss of a child and the resulting aocoholism led to the ending of his marriage several years ago. Since this time, his manipulative and attention-demanding ex-wife has entertained thoughts of them getting back together, even as she remarried and had another child.

He was finally done with it, he had 50% custody of his own children, and he wanted to be rid of her drama. For some reason, despite this, in a phone call she will not speak of, she claims he lost his mind and went missing.

He may have been killed by her (new) alcoholic, and violently abusive husband, or he may be on the streets somewhere. We are doing all we can to find him as a tightly knit family but the times we need to miss work is making life rough. Doing what I can, I'm here to sell whatever I can for.. frankly whatever I can get for it. I'm not used to this, so please make fair offers and I will probably sell. These are simply put, hard times, even without struggling to make ends meet while burning gas 12 hours a day searching. I only have one or two items I picked up on these forums a long time ago, please don't heckle if my equipment isn't that great.

a dark elven demonic spellbook
Battered black leather encased with tenebrious veins of brilliant jade covers the tome enclosing page upon page inscribed with everything from spell components to the rituals for properly summoning demons. Several of them appear to be dog-eared for reference and their edges are yellowing under the patina of the years.
(it's old, holds an item, and has a few scripts)

a black ora dark elven buckler
(it has a show involving a pentagram with shards of some rare gem, black and red.. it's a 5x shield)

I (foolishly) bought the black adamantium bastard sword, ignoring mention of the level requirement (my fault, I was told about it, I just didn't notice) to use it, but I do have that also. It disarms sometimes when it parries. I believe it's +17 and you need to be level.. 65? to use it? I forget, but it's probably the most valuable thing I own.

..I even have a 23 dark elven sorceror, fully altered equipment and a great hair feature alter, never seen around and nobody knows him.. I know it's not much, but I'm somewhat desperate here. I'm missing work in a time when we need money to just wait by a collection of phones for word from any of the people we have searching, before going out more myself.

my aim is penguinowrangler, i won't likely check PM's here often, but i'll try to

Link to missing persons report/news story?

HumpDay

The news won't report on it without a subpeona. I can understand that much, otherwise everyone who goes missing would be on there before people even realized they weren't really missing.

The police aren't that helpful because he's 33. Adults can go missing, they don't have to say "I'm leaving", they just.. can. The problem is.. he's suicidal. There's a nation-wide missing persons APB out on "Andrew Sumpter", and ..frankly I don't know why since it's not likely, but if you live in wisconsin and see a Jeep Grand Cherokee, older modal, blue with a black hood and black fender (from an accident) with a Fire Department license plate that reads "IFYT4U"; Call 911. Tell them where you saw him.

Also, if you have an AT&T phone, cancel it. AT&T are assholes. We tried to get his iPhone records so we could figure out where he was before he shut his phone off, and they said they refused without a court order. So we got a subpoena, and then they said "It takes 10 days for a call to register, we can't help you yet." They were incredibly rude and not the least bit helpful.. I don't expect sympathy but basic human decency in that situation, just.. sorry. It's hard not to get caught up in this stuff.

Because no one has ever used a sympathy story to fraud someone? There is a reason people/companies are cautions. Assholes ruin it for everyone.

The ex-wives new husband is a severe alcoholic, and his last wife left him for beating her horrifically while drunk, several times. The ex-wife in question was in DAILY contact with my brother, and all summer long saying they should buy a house a few towns over, and get back together. E-mails, phone calls.. mom even said 'if he ever saw her phone bill he'd lose his mind'..

..The only people to see Andy since he dissapeared were her (who if something happened, she'd lie about to protect herself, not even her husband), and her mother. A few times claiming in front of my parents house while they were home, when we saw nothing.

Police won't investigate unless they have cause, but maybe somebody knows law.. what counts as 'cause'. We have motive, and suspicious behavior..

I understand why AT&T might have required the court order. But once they had it, they had no excuse to act the way they did.

What you have is a story full of holes, what-ifs, and assumptions.

The dude is suicidal, manic depressive, and an alcoholic and you automatically suspect foul play really?

That screen name is familiar, though. I know it from the EG chat during the platinum run last year.

I'm not saying it's not legit, just to understand why there would be skeptism from people and companies.

Because despite those things? He's an amazing father. Unflinching in that, even if he were trashed. And he missed their first day or school and may miss his son's birthday this friday. The reason it's suspicious is because of the last e-mail he sent her. It was calm, rational, and ending things on HIS end. So somehow, clean and sober, calm and rational, she managed to say SOMETHING to send him off the deep end, so that when we found his apartment there were 10 empty beer bottles in it, with the TV and lights on.

What I didn't like was the fact that he didn't have the beer before that day, and the kind of beer he bought isn't what you buy to get hammered. It was beer like Spotted Cow and more expensive stuff.. the beer you enjoy, not what you drink just to drink.

Later that night they claimed he broke into Dirk (the new husband)'s house, and called them while they were camping from the home phone, but hung up without saying anything. He broke in by pushing out a screen.. if he was drunk and psychotic, he'd have just smashed his way in.. and at the time he was still using his cell, so why not call from that?

I want to believe he's still out there driving around, but there's just been too many little suspicious things Dirk and Casey (the ex) have done. Like the wierd apology he gave my dad.. in a really calm and sincere, sad voice he said "I'm so sorry that this happened", but the wording was off, more like an apology for his own actions than the situation. We brushed it off. I was out driving around near Casey's mom's home where she was staying and down the street is a nursing home where my grandfather lives. So I pulled around back through the employee lot incase Andy parked there to visit Pop, nothing, so I pulled into a street intersecting a dead end that leads into a massive stretch of semi-swampland/tall grass/overgrowth.. to find Dirk and his hunting dog at the dead end, wandering out into it.. unaware of my presence. I mean, if he did something that's almost too obvious to be worthwhile as evidence, but it's just the sheer amount of suspicious shit that.. I don't know. It's paranoia, I'm sure.. but I love my brother. Not knowing where he is, alive or dead, it's just this weight that gets heavier every day we don't know something. It's torture.

To be blunt, I know my brother better than anyone, and even if he dissapeared to get his life back together, or lost his mind entirely.. Max (his son) would be in his mind. I sat through every one of Max's recesses at school, incase Andy would show up to watch. Casey filed a restraining order, just so he wouldn't be able to take the kids out of school .. smart thinking on her part, actually, despite how at first she painted it under more selfish motives. Andy's never hurt a fly in his life, and she claims his voice mail messages were threatening her life.

EDIT: Another point of suspicion. She deleted these voice mail messages proving he was around after Friday night. They said they made a second tape her sister Kelly was holding onto, which we tried for days to get ahold of to hear but they always had a convenient reason for someone else having it. We finally cornered them, and then they said they destroyed the tape.

As of today a news report on southern wisconsin Fox TMJ4 broadcast has been circulating Andy's picture. A private investigator my cousin works for managed to convince several police to admit they were doing the legal bare minimum. The nation-wide APB we were assured of was an outright lie, the 7 neighboring counties were notified today and we already have a lead on a Brookfield officer who recognized the description of his vehicle and said that several days ago he was driving behind him. Hopefully he is not mistaken, this would be a .. much needed breath of air.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern, I apologize for not being able to reply to more of your messages to express my gratitude in a timely fashion. With any luck, this will be a reprieve from the stress, in the very least signifying he is alive. My parents were interviewed for the evening news, hopefully he will see it and understand it through the issues he is coping with.

I paid 20 mil, thought I was getting a bargain. I guess it's not really worth that much anymore, from the guy I talked to. Said it was probly worth half that. So I'm trying to see if I have anything hidden away on my first character that was worth more..

Still no word on Andy. My parents interview got bumped off the news by some asshol in the area who put pipebombs in the basement of an apartment building, and then again off the 10 o' clock news by an interview with McCain. ..old guys not getting my vote, for that =P. Trying to keep it together, so pardon the dry off-color humor.. The news did update his picture to also include his rather distinct license plate, since people would recognize that, but might not think "Hey, that looks like the guy from the news. I should call the cops."

Andrew Sumpter was found dead today. He has likely been dead since shortly after he went missing. I dont have the energy to explain more, but messages I came home to made me feel all of you who have offered support deserved to know that much.

I only stumbled across this thread yesterday, it had me stunned from start to finish reading it.

I am so sorry for your loss. May he know true peace now and may you find it when all is said and done.
