Srsly, why can't they get a decent set or servers? And WTF would they route critters on a more reliable server then their players?

I always find it funny when there's a crash, and people bother to post when it goes back up, like there's really a point in it. Anyone who wants to play during a crash is sitting there going, "Brute force method my ass!", until it lets them back in.

I actually glance through the forum to see if someone posted that it's back up. I don't sit there spamming the SGE

You're assuming they have to buy regular x86/64 servers... Gemstone was programmed on a TI-83, they have to go buy 512 TI-83s and network them in a cluster.

And WTF would they route critters on a more reliable server then their players?
This was a joke on their part. The reason "critters" sometimes work and players do not is when they connection to the server goes down, if the connection goes down then no player sends commands to do things, yet since it's the server hosting the game that "sends commands" for critters, it can still do so.

Although they should have some sort of mechnism for "when was the last time a real person sent a command" to realize when they're running without a playerbase.
