View Full Version : Your longest stun?

So I got hit with this this morning:
The water elemental closes its eyes and draws in on itself, arms crossed over its aqueous torso. Suddenly its eyes flash open and it hurls an incredibly powerful blast of water at you!
Time slows to a standstill as you watch the watery blast slam into your seemingly frozen body! You vaguely realize that you are screaming as your shattered body is blasted back into a crumpled heap!
... 40 points of damage!
Optic nerves scrambled. You struggle to recover your balance but fail.
You are stunned for 16 rounds!
Roundtime: 20 sec.
Needless to say, things didn't go well. I've never seen a stun of that magnitude before. Can anyone top it?

I remember 16 rounds being the longest stun i've ever received due to normal game mechanics. Though as I type this I think I remember something upwards of 20.

wtf? 16 rounds? how long is a round anyway? 8 seconds?
Only thing I can recall off-hand is a 12 round stun after getting popped in the eye with a shard. Still don't know why I didn't die right away instead of 20 seconds later from another shard.
fucking pyro fuckers...

5 seconds per round, I believe.

Yeah, that was a painful death. I even used sigil of escape only to land at the feet of a radical and lesser water elemental and got to watch them nick me to death over, oh...15 rounds or so.

Bummer. Pali would beseech, Sorcerer would have had a chance with CoS, Bard (if trained properly) could shout, warrior berserk, rogue fail at stun maneuvers, wizard might have dodged the blow entirely, Empath would be unstunned as regenerate fixes everything anyway, cleric would have had rezzed their own corpse.
Wait a minute. What was your companion doing the whole while? Sorcerers should be able to implant mana bombs into pets to blow up in the ranger's time of need. Or, you know, for kicks.

Seriously, that'd make companions about 50 times more useful. I don't even bother with em anymore. Having my companion in this situation wouldn't have helped one whit. He would have shown up about 30 seconds after I got stunned, taken another 10 seconds to do anything, would have missed his attack and sprawled on the ground, taken another 10 seconds to stand up before missing another target, then would have stood in the same room stupidly after I had escaped to the third floor. Animal companions ftl. :(
rogue fail at stun maneuvers.

During part of the GSS, Nuadjha was 40ish. He got hit by a spiky black abyran'ra with some sort of fear/stun spell for 160 rounds. No joke - 160 rounds.

That's why I think Paladin beseech is the best spell evar. 1 round, 20 rounds, don't matter a bit. For 30 mana it's gone.

well technically, he would have been able to beseech after 4 rounds.
but yes, awesome spell.
they definitely need to improve upon a companions ability. i think my dog could have saved my life better, and im not spiritually bonded to it.

i just meant that if he was a paladin and that happened, he would have been able to beseech after the RT of the blast ended, which was 20 secs or 4 rounds later.
TheLastShamurai

and my longest critter induced stun was 20 rounds.
i have removed tattoes as well though, and that has awesome RT to it.

if companions could at least be able to drag you off when stunned that would be enough for me (well unless you have a ferret or something really small)
Or a bird, like mine.
My longest stun is 15 rounds, but I've been in over 40 minutes of roundtime.

I know back in the day when you could stack mind jolt, a friend in game stacked like 14 hours worth of mind jolts on his brothers char.
Logged his brothers char in, dumped 300 mana worth of Mind jolt into him, log him off.
Did it when he was bored.

Last night on my giantman cleric I got a 15 round stun from major e-wave from a water wyrd... in stance offensive
I only lost the initial 50 health with 3 wyrds in a room and survived. It was on my chest so I just 130ed out.
But my half elf rogue only lasted about 3-4rounds before dying while bound in the Citadel.

Heh... same thing happened to me today when I died in SV. Watched Edaarin walk back and forth past my corpse twice. Eventually someone else found me. From my understanding, VM automates most of his stuff, so I wasn't expecting him to stop.

My longest stun is 15 rounds, but I've been in over 40 minutes of roundtime.

'course, I'm nothing if not an opportunist. When I was rezzed (in the middle of a frickin' HUGE pile of bodies), I pulled out a shot of whiskey, made a toast to the rezzers, and finished off my guzzle reps.
