I have been informed that there is already a thread about this. My response: I had it before the thread was made but was too busy being a college boy to read this forum. My apologies for being awesome.

Good gods it is fast.

Beats both Firefox and IE8 in load speed. Installed with no issues at all.

There are some glitches. It is faster though.

I've had some flash issues. But I haven't really been doing much to really try it's limits.

Hotmail seems to dislike it, at least the "MSN Live" version. It tried to get me to upgrade my browser, but was able to muddle through. No surprise that Microsoft doesn't like Chrome, so may be on purpose.

Yeah it works fine once you continue though. I'm surprised how good MS crap works in it.

If it would just let me use the middle mouse button it would be perfect.

There are way too many things I still need for this to replace a browser. It has the speed that Safari does, however, it can't run the sites I use Safari for (Facebook, Pogo.com). The only browser I can stop using is FireFox. I really hope they try to fix the Flash and Java issues. And yea, center mouse button is a fucking need.

FYI Google now owns your post:

Essentially, Section 11 gives Google free reign to do what it wants with most anything that passes from the user to the internet via its browser, including the contents of blog entries, forum posts, and photo uploads – all without paying a cent.

... at least until they change the verbage.

Heh, nice catch. Google said they will remove that part of the ToS and apply the change retroactively.

Google just has too much money! LOL

You can see their board just sitting around going: "Okay, so... ya... we have a lot of money, and we only need like 10% of it to keep our huge staff and our search engine servers up and running"

"What are we going to do with all the money?!"

"What do you think? ... hmm...

"We could make some sort of interactive map thing like mapquest on crack... "
"How about we use up some of our extra space with a mail program that you can save as much as you want!... okay... hmm..."
"We can buy YouTube and get sued a bunch, that'll waste some money!"
"What about making a compact fast browser?"
"Can we somehow own all the websites and internet servers?"
"How about making a new, faster, more flashy planet?"
"How do you think we can improve God?"

I used to really like Google as a company... lately a lot less so. They're over-positioning themselves IMO. We'll see how long "do no evil" lasts.

Still really like them, just a bit skeptical. At least with Microsoft there are no pretenses of altruism.

Khariz

Why do you assume it's a pretense for Google?

Heh, if you think Google is over positioning themselves now, you haven't seen anything yet.

When I was there, Google was working on a plan they called Project Cartalk, basically they want to make the Internet free, wireless, and accessible from anywhere. It's why they were bidding on the FCC wireless spectrum.

The reasoning behind it was that by making the Internet a commodity, something anyone can access freely, it would drive up the price of advertising. So when I see stuff like this open source browser, which was in development for atleast 2 years, and stuff like the open source cell phone platform, it all points to the same overall goal.

Make the software free, open, and easily accessible, and rake in the cash from the fact that advertising will be more expensive.

You try playing any application games or deleting anything from your inbox? It won't allow me to use most the features. It opens the website just fine, but that's about it. Perhaps I need to uninstall and reinstall.

If Google ended up turning into Skynet and making all those Terminators that took over the world...well, I'd be ok with it.

Worked for Google... but yeah without the middle mouse button and the ability to search through web pages like I can in Firefox I won't be using it.

Although this is an early beta version, I have high hopes for when they sort out all the bugs. Let's just hope this doesn't stay in beta for as long as GMail.

Oh worked.

I forgot you're rich and famous now smoking cigars with Denny Crane after a daily pwning of the market via Blue Gene POWA'.

I seriously thought you were moonlighting that and stayed at google. Sorry.

If you want to speed up fixes, just get your Chrome browser put into Dev mode. It means you get all of the dev updates. Flash is totally fixed on my browser now, and it's even faster than it was before. Just search Google for how to get into Dev mode (you have to DL a program from them). It's easy and well worth it.

I heart google and pray they take over the world soon
