View Full Version : Urglaes weapons?

I've asked around some and haven't received much information, so i'm trying again:
I have a Shadowy urglaes longsword that i've owned since the early to mid 90's and as far as i can tell it is a +12/+12 defender weapon. I've searched around and can find next to no information on this kind of metal, and i've never seen another pure urglaes weapon in-game.
I'm hoping that someone may be able to help with more information on this weapon, or possibly confirm other urglaes weapons around the lands.
Anything would be a great help, thanks!

The rift drops urglaes fangs and they do something that I forgot what.
This is all I have to offer, which I'm fully aware adds nothing to this thread.

Urglaes fangs are just cursed. Urglaes weapons are really rare, but there are a few around. The GMs seem to keep changing their minds on what their properties are, however, so few are alike. There are some urglaes shields and such, too (I have one, actually, one of the profession pavises). I recommend just selling it as a +12/+12 weapon with a bit added on for the rarity of urglaes.

I know of someone that owns an urglaes dagger-based ohe. Pretty sure I have seen a longer ohe our there also in the past. Definitely extremely rare. I figure you could get more selling it to a collector than as a plain defender made from a cool metal.

What is it you wanted to know?
Urglaes has been given no special properties by staff. Other than being rare, there's nothing to it.
In fact, I'd bet that 99% of the urglaes weapons in game are alters that got converted to inspecting as urglaes.

I have heard this argument before, but if you click https://www.play.net/gs4/info/armory/materials.asp#Urglaes it says urglaes has +12 attack bonus, which mine has. Yes i guess it could have been an altered imflass defender longsword, i guess i was hoping for someone to come along with some history maybe.

It should be +8/+8 according to my records, as it sold in the '98 grand auction in the red tent. I'm interested if you're selling, I was actually going to contact you about it, because I have an urglaes dagger and I wanted an urglaes set of weapons.

I probably should have been clearer. I was in a hurry when I typed it up. (I'm making wontons with the wife)
When I said no special properties, what I meant was nothing other than what's in the docs. Like for example the Khaladon Black Ora does more stuff than the docs say.
As for the converted urglaes, I meant that in the general sense, not your longsword specifically.

also, as a comparison of prices, I bought my 3x/3x ice-age shortie for around 10 mill, and my 4x/4x dagger for 15ish.
Krellin had an urglaes rune staff but I'm near sure that it went with him to the ether.

it wasn't a real staff/weapon.
Oh yeah, that's right. I was thinking it was a quarter staff but you're right, I remember him mentioning trying to get it converted now.
