I set up a GemstoneIV identity on twitter...twitter being: a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.

For those of us who don't use Psinet (i.e. Mac users), I thought in might be another way to IM or get our fix outside the game.

As I said, not sure if it has an actual application, but who knows?

A twitter feed is like an RSS feed of really short "micro-blogs". I think the character limit is 140 or so. Basically you send a "tweet" and everyone subscribed gets it in their RSS feed, text message, email, whatever.
