Okay earlier today XP died and I had to reinstall it. Everything went smoothly until it deleted all of my drivers. I've gotten everything working except for this stupid sound driver..And I'm out of ideas. Here's all the info I have.

my motherboard is a NF18GF by nVidia. In THEORY, their all-in-one driver should have fixed my sound. In reality this just isn't so.

Windows thinks my sound card is some CMI somethingorother that doesn't work, and there's absolutely no documentation I can find on the subject on the internet. any ideas? Is there some sort of generic sound driver for XP I can use?

We're sure the sound is onboard, right? There's no additional sound card or anything, right?

You might try here, Neff:

http://www.driverguide.com/

I am not sure they will have anything to help, but they might. :)
