View Full Version : Psinet Through SGE Doesn't Work?

Okay, I'm installing PsiNet from an old local copy of v1.x (v2.x requires the .NET framework which is a notorious fail using wine under Linux). All I really need is the spellup and aliases so the local features will get the job done. I had the SGE & Wizard installed and I tried to install PsiNet but when I log in, PsiNet doesn't run or anything at all. I remember that there were some caveats with order of operations of installation with the SGE, Wizard, and PsiNet. This is like the 5th time I've forgotten exactly how to handle this problem. Can someone set me straight here?

Are you getting the error that Psinet fails to install? If so, try to log in to the game, log off, then try to install again. That works whenever I get that error.

No, it installs successfully. It just doesn't launch when I log in.

It's Simu's game launcher. Uninstall your SGE and Psinet, then reinstall Simu's LAUNCHER. Then install SGE/Psinet. See if that works

Nice. That got wizard to mysteriously launch but not be at all visible.

By far the best part is that the character is actually logged in and visible in the game. The FE is running just not at all visible. It's SORT OF funny. SF works. But then again it only "works" at best under Linux in the first place.

Re-installed Wizard and it seems to run fine but still no PsiNet.

Lich will do aliases and spellups and works perfectly with linux so that may be something to look into as well.
