I'm flying to Boston in the morning for a while for a family issue, have no idea how long I'll be there, and will pretty much have nothing to keep me occupied, so I'm gonna buy a DS.
Problem is, I don't know what games to get for it. I'm not much worried about the casual minigame shit like Warioware right now. Mostly looking for a big long epic game, and maybe a casual/semi-casual game on the side, probably New Super Mario Bros or something.
How are the Zelda/Metroid/4738209472 Final Fantasy remake games on this thing? I'm open to pretty much any suggestions.
EDIT: Was also considering a PSP, but other than God of War: CoL, I have no idea what's good for that either. I'll probably still end up getting a DS unless convinced otherwise.

If you like Tactics, FFTA2 is really great for gameplay, sucky storyline though.
Anything that requires the mic function is horrible, so be sure to check it out.
SimCity sucks, don't get it.
FF4 remake is awesome.
Ninja Gaiden is really great.

I wanna get at least 2 games, one of which will probably be Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
For the other one I'm thinking either New Super Mario Bros, FF3, FF4, or whatever the Metroid game is that's out for it.
Which of those would you recommend? I can't make up my mind buyt I need to get something today, probably within a few hours. I barely keep up with the portable market (last portables I owned was a Sega Game Gear and the original Game Boy).

The Castlevania DS games are pretty awesome too aren't they? Fuck I hate having to decide shit like this when I just want to buy them all.
definitely get FF4, it's amazing.

Oh yeah uh....are there any necessary accessories I'll need to buy with it that they conveniently forget to tell you aren't included with the system? I'm guessing no, but I still remember being pissed off about my PS1 not coming with an RF adaptor for my old shitty TV back in the day.
Anyone played Metroid Prime: Hunters? How's that one?

Prime hunters is decent. Shooting mechanics are kind of awkward at first, but you get the hang of it. Son of a bitch cramps your hand up, though.
Mario Kart is always a good choice. If you live near a shop that sells import games, definitely grab Jump Ultimate Superstars if they have it. I haven't tried any of the FF games yet. Hotel Dusk is a good game if you like puzzlers with a decent story.
I wasn't a huge fan of Phantom Hourglass, to be honest.

New Super Mario is good because once you fly through and beat it, can spend a bunch more hours going back and collecting stuff.

Puzzle Quest is fun, annoying, but fun. It's a bejeweled RPG sorta thing.

Zelda for the DS was kinda yawntastic.

My faves are Super Mario Bros, Mario Party (yea, I'm cheesy like that), and FFIV. I haven't had to buy any weird accessories or anything for it.

I like Brain Age 1 and 2, and my nephew loves lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I played the two lego games and they were pretty cool.

See the Brain Age blows due to the mic shit. It would never register when I said BLUE or BLACK.

Under the knife is pretty good. Haven't played part two yet, but if it's similar to the first, it's worth getting.
buy a DS mod-chip and download any game you wish.

Yeah, DS games are pretty easy to fine online if you get a flash cart. The best cart seems to be SuperCard One. Same size and shape as a normal DS cart, so you put it in your DS as normal, and the cart has a slot for a Micro-SD right in it. Buy a 4gb micro-SD, and let torrents do the rest.
