I can't wait for Belnia to post here:
RIFT EXPANSION!
Post cap hunting. Shifting of creatures inside. New area of the rift, not a plane 6.
Expansion itself is still in details.
Approximately level 110ish. New undead. Fear.
EDIT NEW INFO:
Living AND undead creatures.
Minor fear kicks in at 5 levels, sheer fear kicks in at 10.
There are multiple abilities and spells that increase your effective level against fear.

New undead. Fear.
Craziness. When he talked about the 130 area (When I fianlly got to make a SIMUcon) I asked him about Shear Fear at the fourm, and he said it was going to have to be removed. He honestly looked like he never even thought of it. Wonder if they are going to make a new fear system...

Intrigued.

I hear ya.
But it won't mean much for me if all the new mobs are undead.

WOW and NICE!...
Bout damn time we're not limited to OTF and Teras!!!
I would have rather seen New Ta'Faendryl show up with a 110 hunting ground open up, but it's just good we're getting a third choice!(and it's NOT on Teras FTW!)

There are two types of bows that people refer to as "Chaos" bow. The one that morphs into all types of ranged weapons (long, composite, short bow, heavy/light xbow) with different sets of enchant/sighting and the longbows from the WD that will flare any kind of flare randomly.

Right but most of those choices include reducing the uber treasure system chances of finding something really sweet!
Which I think is a great way to reduce the amount of rare material items found, because most people facing these critters will want several of the fear reducing spells on. Not that low level characters wouldn't still be able to bring them in just fine, but I'd guess there will be more capped characters hunting the new area then lower level characters group hunting.
Each way's a FTW IMO

It's not Plane 6. Who's to say it will use the same spell-drop mechanics of the Rift?

Interesting . . . I've always thought the Rift was the most interesting and creepy hunting ground.
I hope they make more environmental effects for the Rift in general. Something like the bowels.
I dunno, I thought the rift was a perfectly designed and complete area, with plane 5 and the heart and all that.
Anyways... what about the cavern of ages? Can we finally get some benches or something?

You make a good point. The rift is neatly packaged. However, they did say they were going to make this a part of rift but not in the plane format.
Also, CoA needs some serious updates. The pink backpack with flames on it was pretty sweet though.
1.The critters will probably be immune to puncture :)
2.The fear will be unavoidable for most if not tweaked, which would be stupid.
3.It'll be a sorcerers wet dream either way.

They are phasing immunities out in favor of resistances.
Every creature on BCS isn't immune to stuff (generally speaking).

Yeah, that. There's more than one 'chaos bow'.
It's been awhile, but a friend told me she won a randomizing ammo bow from the WD. I'm pretty sure she said it was permablessed, had a low enchant and of course was a short bow.

Is there an estimated release date for this? I also thought the rift was the overall most awesome area in the game. They need to hurry the fuck up NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
And not make the sheer fear thing massively gay to solo hunters, since I'm blindly guessing that being in a group will help with the fear effects.
HURRY UP YOU FUCKS CAUSE IF YOU DON'T ME AND 5 OF MY FRIENDS WILL QUIT GS AND YOU'LL GO BANKRUPT

I just wish they'd make a 100+ in the landing. I love the bowels risk for hunting when I was pre-cap, it'd be neat to see an undiscovered subterranian cavern beneath the bowels even with 100+ critters.

I'm not sure how relevant that is since you can't wear outside spells in the Rift. Also, none of the spells that affect fear are in the minor elemental or minor spiritual spell circles, so get ready to start shitting your pants squares.

GMs have basically said the landing area is not slated to get any new hunting grounds any time soon due to them having the most out of any other area. People weren't pleased. Note, though, that they consider Solhaven, and Icemule to be completely different areas, so it is always possible that one might be in walking distance with a good script and gold rings.

True, it takes seconds to get to Icemule from the Landing.
Shit, it takes me longer to get from Teras to Nelemar :(

Sheer Fear is the mostly worthlessly archaic mechanic in the game. They should just remove it considering there is an EXP cap now. Someone can fight a troll king that can spawn from its own limbs and take an axe to the head at a 600 endroll, but if they see a lost soul they get PWNed into kneeling submission... Weak.

Anyone capped, or near capped could get enough survival not to slip so they can script to icemule in a few seconds, or dash down to Solhaven in a few seconds. You can cut the time down even more if you use rings.
They are effectively all one HUGE area in my book for many intents and purposes.

Completely? I believe Nuadjha said something like 2x to negate the effects entirely. However, his info is scewed as he has self cast sneaking.

My ranger is 1x and rarely slips, but again... sneaking. I believe it also helps to be in stance offensive. And before someone freaks out, no I haven't scripted back and worth 100 times in offensive stance versus defensive stance and created a pie-chart and plotted a line heading toward the asymptote...

I was talking about the Keen, but even there 2x and blessings lore with self-cast sneaking won't entirely negate slipping. 1x Survival with 5 ranks of blessings lore (first seed benefit) and self-cast sneaking means that you almost always catch yourself if you start to slip on the Icemule trail.
Best info I've got.

A post cap area in Solhaven would be the greatest thing in the history of the universe, with the exception of my own birth of course.

A new nelemar like (which from what I understand is a watery temple setting)-but post-cap (maybe up to 130s?) in that lake near solhaven would make sense. Fill it with those invasion creatures that were wandering around, the cyclops titans, wyrms etc.
Edit: Honestly, this is partially why I haven't had any interest in capping... Nothing really to look forward to, other than just grinding for loot or counting the number of creatures before you get 1 training point just seems dull.
