Unfortunately my log is broken/corrupted right now so I had to use someone elses. I got a 24 hour ban for making this char. After I was pulled to rename pavillion, I named the char Andrasste. That wasn't a good idea.

Hannahmontana just arrived.
Hannahmontana just went southwest.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went west.
Japhrimel says, "Of your lack of flame marks, sure am."
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went northwest.
K>sceam
Please rephrase that command.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went southwest.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went northeast.
K>scream
Speaking to Japhrimel, Lunaryna says, "I should so use that staff I have to have a set made to taunt you with."
You scream!
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went west.
Zuie screams at Japhrimel!
One of the small children of the town runs in, scrambles quickly up the tree trunk, and a moment later hurtles to the ground, landing with a graceful tumble before racing off across the square.
Lunaryna ponders.
Lord Kzanll just arrived.
K>chat to ooc Hannahmontana just arrived.

Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went east.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went west.
Speaking to Lunaryna, Japhrimel says, "You should."
Lunaryna says, "That woman is getting annoying."
With a decrease in tempo, Japhrimel gives his soft melody the aspect of a soothing lullabye that makes forgetting the day's cares as easy as closing your eyes.
Lunaryna narrows her eyes.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went northwest.
Lunaryna removes a pure potion from in her linen backpack.
Ameiya just arrived.
K>l
Lunaryna put a pure potion in her dark leather quiver.
Lord Kzanll just went northwest.
[Town Square Central]
This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end of the space, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a single arrow shaft, a single arrow shaft, a large acorn, some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.
Also here: Ameiya, Japhrimel who is sitting, Dithio who is kneeling, Lord Datarr, Omind, Aulos who is kneeling, Danrok who is sitting, Lady Lunaryna, Moogoo, Zuie, Apprentice Geowyn who is kneeling, Omeron
Obvious paths: northeast, east, southeast, southwest, west, northwest
Ameiya just went southeast.
Lunaryna removes a pure potion from in her linen backpack.
Lunaryna put a pure potion in her dark leather quiver.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went northeast.
* Hannahmontana is off to a rough start! She just bit the dust!
Lord Kamkor just arrived.
Lunaryna just closed a wide-strapped dark leather quiver.
Lord Kamkor just went southwest.
K>chat to ooc LOL

Aloana just arrived.
Lady Jaidden just arrived.
Lady Jaidden just went northwest.
Japhrimel brushes his fingers over the strings, modulating softly from chord to chord as if playing to himself.
Hannahmontana just arrived.
Hannahmontana just went southwest.
Zuie just went southwest.
Aloana just went southeast.
Hannahmontana just arrived.
Hannahmontana just went northwest.
Moogoo blinks.
Without a change in dynamics Japhrimel picks up the pace of the song, weaving a soft but playful theme reminiscent of the sound of a far-away horse running across the countryside.
Kethore just arrived.
An upset badland spirit floats in, following Kethore.
Daqlava just arrived.
Kethore gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...
Kethore gestures into the air.
Kethore momentarily gets a faroff look in his eyes, and then returns to normal.
Kethore just went northwest.
An upset badland spirit hurriedly flits out of sight.
Daqlava just went northeast.

High Lady Yollia just went northwest.
Hannahmontana just arrived.
A blurry pale pink sprite with knobby knees flutters in.
K>l han
You see Hannahmontana.
She appears to be a Sylvankind.
She is very tall and appears to be very young. She has blue eyes and tanned skin. She has very long, fine blonde hair. She has a dainty face, a small nose and high cheekbones.
She is in good shape.
She is holding a falchion in her right hand and a reinforced shield in her left hand.
She is wearing a leather sheath, a crystal amulet, a waxed black leather pouch, a bone-clasped forest green backpack, a pair of glazed leather boots, some dark silver-buttoned breeches, a silvery green leather cap, and a silver-edged black leather tunic.
Ameiya just arrived.
Ameiya just went northeast.
Hannahmontana screams out that she wishes to drop all charges against Xeromist! A townperson jaunts off, proclaiming that he'll inform the authorities.
Kethore just arrived.
A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal Zuie.
An upset badland spirit floats in, following Kethore.
Guennhafyr's group just arrived.
The powerful look leaves Geowyn.
With a decrease in tempo, Japhrimel gives his soft melody the aspect of a soothing lullabye that makes forgetting the day's cares as easy as closing your eyes.
Hannahmontana just kicked Zuie!
Zuie gets a blank look on her face.
Kethore laughs!
Zuie softly says, "Uh."
Hannahmontana just went southwest.
You hear the voice of a nearby crier announce, "Askip is currently available at Silverwood Manor to offer help or advice to any adventurer in need. Looking for answers? You may find them here!"
(Please select DIR SILVERWOOD to find your way there.)

The sprite flutters out of sight.

It would of been better if Andraste didn't hand out those official warnings. Bleh!

I don't suppose you could clean up this log, or least emphasize what we're supposed to be looking for (aside from making the dumb OOC name). This scrolling is why I don't hang out at TSC, no need to put it in a post.

I guess I don't understand the appeal of pissing off staff with dumb names you know you'll have to change.

Theres not a whole lot to see it was just someone being dumb/goofy with a name and a bunch of bored people thumping her and her dying a couple of times.

When I first started playing Gemstone (~10 years or so ago), I enjoyed it for the technical aspect of it, going out and slaughtering things... I liked it for the social aspect, just sitting for hours on end talking to friends... I liked that there weren't a bunch of people just talking about a football game or whatever the president was up to. It was all kept mostly in character.

Then people started leaving, and the game started to change. The people that remained were more and more winey; they had this feeling of entitlement. The game seemed to go from a bunch of people having fun more to a bunch of people playing a game. It went from TSSW being jokes and fun, through “Guards? Can somebody cast massies!?”, to the park as it is today. It’s just… too much…

I’ve played maybe 5 of those 10 years, spending half my time playing GS, and the other half deactivated trying out some MMOs. When last I started my account, I didn’t realize how used to all the BS I had become. After a few weeks, I got frustrated and bored again, and decided to give Gemstone one more ‘last chance’. I upgraded to Plat.

For those of you that haven’t played plat, It’s not just a ‘smaller population’… it’s a community. Everybody knows everybody. It’s not just RP or not tolerating the ‘hannamontana’’s of the game. It’s more than that. It reminded me why I liked the game, and what I kept trying to find by coming back all those years.

So for you that haven’t played Plat for any length of time (especially NOT during a free period where things tend to get closer to prime), and want to bash me, that’s fine. You don’t get it. And you won’t get it if you don’t crave that aspect of Gemstone.

So you prefer Plat. That's awesome.

A lot of us don't.

So shut the fuck up with your bullshit, already.

It's that elitist attitude that turns people off-- I'd rather deal with a Hannahmontana for 20 minutes then join a "community" who includes a dumbass like you who thinks that typos on ugly items on a character that doesn't make a lick of sense is "halarious". If that's the type of aspect of GS you're talking about craving, you're right, I don't "crave" that.

I've tried Plat and it offered me nothing that Prime couldn't already. Besides a higher bill, that is. If you love it, that's great, but you're asking for a verbal ass whipping coming to these boards to talk about how much better Plat is.

Typo's: Serious Business

I'm not sure why you're so up-in-arms about something that doesn't affect you in any way.

I don't feel much of anything about the hannamontanna thing, but at least it and other BS like it cost me 300 bucks a year that I could just as easily spend on more crack. So I'd have a valid reason to be upset about it.

You're just bitching because typos put sand in your vagina for whatever reason.

You wonder why this game is going to shit? That log is the perfect example. Not ONE of the people there just ignored the OOC influence that, in all reality, wasn't even there in game (for the purposes of roleplay). You all decided to break character and hunt down / beat the shit out of absolutely nothing, as that character obviously doesn't exist by Elanthian standards.

If I gave a shit enough to play this game again, I'd be pissed that you douchebags STILL can't roleplay, and STILL resort to OOC bullshit in massively in character areas (the most important in-character areas in game, mind you).

Alright, well, with that said, it was hilarious either way. I wonder why Hannahmontana got the crap beaten out of her, but when I made philcollins, people were applauding him. /shrug

Mass spells have been cast in TSSW since GS3 opened up on AOL. In fact there were mass spells cast prior to AOL's opening, even with the smaller population. The spell casting only increased as more and more characters got old enough to actually cast for a decent length. Then the "massies" shifted south with the creation of the Small Park room.

Whatever perfect little word you're remembering, it's not GS.

I suppose I wasn't clear in what I meant; I was trying to keep it somewhat concise as I tend to ramble.

What I meant to say was that TSSW wasn't full of quite as many nimrods begging like they have a gun to their heads. They were there, sure. But it wasn't nearly as bad as today.

What I meant to convey is that Gemstone, by and large, used to hold to a bit of a higher standard. It's deteriorated into a glorified chatroom with more cybering going on than RPing.

Just because YOU don't know where to find the people that DO still roleplay in Prime, don't assume that if we're not in Plat that all we do is cyber and talk ooc. I know I don't nor do the people I roleplay with. To make this sort of sweeping statement just makes you look... well... very dim.

And the Hannahmontana thing... stupid. Why bother the GMs with this? I think all that thumping with zero interaction was totally ridiculous. How'd they know what her name was? If I were an actual newbie sitting there, I'd think twice about staying in this game. What they did was just as idiotic as creating the name.

Eh, I think she has a point. Back then you didn't have to GO LOOKING to find RP. If you didn't RP you were ostracized, and brow-beaten. Today, people just kinda look the other way and let this kind of thing happen. It says alot that one has to GO LOOKING to find RP :)

Note: I have my fair share non-RP stupidity that I do in game, but its usully only with good buddies, and we are all just kidding around.

I'll agree that you do have to work harder to find roleplay. And that is a shame. (all I used to do was go to Hearthstone) But to just assume if you're not in Plat, it's not happening period, is incorrect.

Typos merely make you look like a retard when you think they constitute humor in your oh-so-superior instance of GS. It wasn't even the typo itself-- it's the way you were defending it on the grounds of it being somehow freaking hilarious.

And frankly, you don't have to go looking for RP in Prime. You just have to have enough awareness to see it when it happens. A lot of people seem to think RP needs to always be some sort of grand, elaborate affair when honestly, it's the small stuff that brings everything together. There's a lot more subtle RP in game then there ever was before-- way less epicly impossible backstories of suffering and pain and stupidly stereotyped characters.. a LOT less "families" consisting of a giant mother, an elf father and their three children; a gnome, a half-elf, and a dark elf. I don't know where you're getting your grand ideas about what roleplaying and community was back when it was still GS3, but I think they're delusional at best. People did some pretty awful roleplay and that "awesome sense of community" merely made others permissive of it. It wasn't until people started splintering into their own groups and becoming critical instead of happy-fluffy-bunny all the time that the RP started improving by leaps and bounds.

Case in point, I think you'll find a lot of people who think the OP's log is a good example of something dumb and they don't approve of-- a lot of people who play and enjoy prime. However, just because asshattery can go on in Prime doesn't make Plat some kind of holy grail golden child of roleplaying.

I tried Plat three times, twice when it wasn't a free trial period, with at least one good friend desperate to get me into it and eager to help with whatever, and it was STILL boring. Insular, elitist, BORING. With so few characters on at any given point, and half of those being Jay's, it greatly lowers the percentage of finding someone who will RP with you when everyone is so freakin' into themselves and their own clique.

There were many times when I was the only one in a given city or there was another but they were sitting there zombified because they didn't really expect anyone else to be there either. Very discouraging.

But... when I was in Prime, there were things happening all the time, practically everywhere. 'cept Zul Logoth. But they're the redheaded stepchild we all keep in the closet and don't talk about. Shh. Anyway. Even late at night, there would be conversations to listen in on and maybe join, little dramas played out in various corners, people to hunt with if the grind was your thing.

The numbers produce greater variety, more possibility of something new, less chance of the stagnation you get when it's the same people every time for years.

Of course... sometimes you get a 'tard with your Marilyn vos Savants. Unfortunately. That log was dumb.

I've had much the same experiences Dex had with Plat. Jay's almost as bad as all the idiots in Prime and he's 10-20% of the population. RP isn't all that hard to get in Prime and it's mainly just 'let's be IC' in Plat. I wasn't thrilled by the guy who pretended to be a dog.

Plat's excellent if you want a basically single player game with a high amount of loot and easy fame lists. I just prefer single player games.
