How do you figure out how much lores add to your picking/disarming ability?

There's not a set formula anymore. The one that was used before was wrong. Talk to Kaiphos in the East Tower if you're interested in helping figure out the new formula.

Umm, my lore seems to add around -230 to my max lock with a vaalin lockpick, at level 70 with 2x picking and 25 bonus in DEX.

I think the easiest way (for you) is to figure out how high you can pick with a vaalin lockpick on a set roll. Then get lore and pick boxes until you get a maximum for that same roll with lock lore on.
