Khariz, I noticed you have a Bob Barr banner as your avatar. Do you feel that Bob Barr accurately represents the Libertarian Party? I ask because his past record seems to indicate the opposite. For example, Barr was a strong proponent of the War on Drugs which most libertarians are usually strongly against. Also, he authored and sponsored the Defense of Marriage Act which is patently unconstitutional based on almost all libertarian readings of the constitution. Finally, he voted for the Patriot Act despite its clear offenses to civil liberties and also voted in support of the war in Iraq contrary to the libertarian ideal of non-intervention.

It sucks that even the third parties are running turd sandwiches nowadays.

No, I don't but I'm not a Libertarian either. Not purely anyway.

I'm Morally (Catholic) and Fiscally (Objectivist) conservative. Socially though...eh, that's where I'm Libertarian. Smoke the doobie...I don't care.

And I've posted this before, but I'll go ahead and said it again:

I'm not going to vote for Bob Barr, because he can't win. Since it's more important to me to NOT put a Marxist in officer than to vote for the person who most closely matches my ideals, I'll be voting for John McCain. I'm just showing a little support for poor Bob Barr.

The real reason I changed my avatar is because Ashliana accused me of being a Neocon. I'm about as much of a Neocon as Ayn Rand was.

On the subject of multiple party governments... in many conversations with expatriates the consensus seems to be that having less parties means more progress.
