wasn't there a verb so as you can hold the item in question in a player shop in case you wanted to loresing or assess the item?

considering there are a few high priced items in shops that I've seen with absolutely nothing on the sign about the item in question, I sure hope there is.

I don't think so.

Yeah one of the shop mechanics I hate (proud shop owner for about two weeks) is whenever you pull an item from inventory it must be resung to show its properties correctly.

Nope. You can't physically remove an item on a shop. Playershops work just about the same as GM/merchant/town shops.

i could have swore there was a verb to just check the item in question....which actually they SHOULD impliment since apparently it is not. something like check <item>

would allow you to hold said item allowing for assessing and loresinging if you leave the shop without returning said item it would just be "magically" replaced on the shelf or have a 60 second time limit. i guess the hardest part of coding such a verb would be how to stop one from grabbing an item and logging

They just need to freaking implement a system so the stats stay with the item once they are figured out.

Forget all this loresinging/assessing and weighing everytime you mess with an item.

that would work too either way...SOMETHING needs to be done about mystery items costing 10m when you can't even know the properties of what you're looking at

If an item has been Loresung prior to placement for sale you can GET it to show the properties.

It would be awesome if you could loresing to the items even if you weren't touching them. Someone could snag Xygon a few decently leveled bards and most every item in the shops would have loresung properties.

Sure, it would take forever, but if it was scripted, and it isn't for mechanical gain, the GMs couldn't bitch.

^^
Get or Take are the verbs you're looking for.

If you're the owner and you PULL it, then the item will remove itself from inventory thus requiring re-assessment/loresinging to.

If you're the buyer - simply GETting it or TAKing the item will display any of the properties revealed by loresinging/assessing.

Also check out playershops.com for that particular store, attributes that have been assessed/loresing will also display in the description as noted by playershops.

*Note, when I say assessed I mean warrior assessed for weighting/padding.

Some people put items in their shops to use it like a locker and put very high prices on them so that they will not sell, or if they do, it would be a profitable trade for sentimental items.

Yep, that is what I do with my hundreds of crystals, they only need four slots. I may eventually try alchemy but until then it is a great shop feature.

And some people just don't want you knowing what's in their shops... read the signs in Ardwen's shop some time.
