Sucker punch and cutthroat bonuses/penalties?

Can anyone tell me what the major penalities or bonuses, just what hurts and helps trying to perform sucker punch and cutthroat? Many thanks!

Encumbrance is your huge hitter. Cut throat will have a bonus to daggers, penalty to just about everything else. Sucker Punch works better with smaller weapons or no weapon at all compared to like a broadsword.

What helps other than daggers? Strength? Phoens? Surge? Other things?

I'm not sure if a stat helps, I don't see a difference with 509, 606 or surge up. And nothing, weapon wise.
