View Full Version : Official: Warcamp Updates

The following updates have been made to the warcamp system:

-The treasure mechanics of the warcamp system have been significantly revamped. Previously, the communal loot chest (in the supply huts) produced treasure more or less randomly. It has been changed to produce treasure scaled to the level and number of warcamp creatures killed in that warcamp by the person searching through it. Keys to this chest are now always randomly generated by the treasure system when looting the bodies of warcamp creatures.

-The rate of warcamp creature population increase has been significantly slowed.

-The rank 15 Guardians of Sunfist requirement to raze 15 warcamps has been reduced to 5 required razings.

-The Guardians of Sunfist taskmasters will now handle experience awards in a fashion identical to Adventurer Guild taskmasters.

-A ranked list of Guardians of Sunfist masters with the most prestige points is now on display in each society outpost.

Heck yeah, I'm delighted about these and I'm not even in the society!

Seems like this was coming for a while, hopefully this improves the Icemule Trail situation.

I wonder if this will be collective over a number of days in the same warcamp or if it will only be the hunt prior to you searching the chest?

><

makes me a sad panda... You know how hard it was for me to get 15?

And to rogue... I couldn't stay alive for 5 minutes in a camp by myself. I bet it'd be 15 minutes now that I'm in MBP

Can someone explain the treasure chest thing?

I wasn't aware you could get more than your society bounty map/etc from them.

Yeah I hate that shit, they did the same thing for alchemy, after I had put in a shit load of work, the crystal breakdown recipes came out, which made my last ~10 ranks of scraping for shit completely unnecessary.

Prior to the new change you could search the chest and find other boxes. The only way to describe these boxes is to say they sucked. Now with the new system in place the boxes should be more rewarding.

Sort of hijacking this thread a little. Obviously these Grimswarm spawn according to the higher trained character who ventured into the camp. The overflow spills out into the area. Is there a way to tell at a glance, short of an appraise, how old they are approximately?

The reason for the question basically comes down to the Adventure Guild escorts. Not only do my younger characters have to deal with the bandits but sometimes MUCH older Grimswarm. I am not complaining. I do like the fact that there is more danger. I sometimes see Seasoned or Weathered Grimswarm and I figure they are high up there.

Peace

Thing is, that Seasoned Grimswarm could have spawned for someone very low level, so it may mean nothing.

Aww come on.. nothing like being 20 trains or so and running into a 70 plus trained Grimswarm.

Razed my first warcamp after the changes..think I killed like 150 or so Grimswarm....pulled like 8 boxes from the camp. Has to be better than the old treasure system for sure!

After some testing, it seems to be roughly 1 chest for every 20 Grimswarm a person kills in the camp.

Yeah, thats true, but I can sit in there with a wizard buddy of mine, and hasted with Sorrow, and kill 20 in like 40 seconds. We'll mob up, go in there and pull 7 boxes apiece. I love it.

And as to the person asking about the contents:

Typically, I'm getting about 3k coins and a diamond-ish gem. I'm capped if that matters. Last box I got one of those Star of Tamzyrr Diamonds or whatever they are called. Worth a boatload.

I'd say the boxes are pretty damn good.

I suspect the treasure you guys are getting is good because you're pulling from a treasure system that hasn't yet been tapped, the 105ish range.

That's not how it works. See: GWEs

If you look at Coase's first announcement, it says that the treasure is scaled to the LEVEL and number of Grimswarm killed.

I take that to mean like... if I went into a camp with 10 level 5 people, and mopped up every creature of theirs with 908 splash, the boxes would be shit--even though I killed a ton. Prevents abuse.

The best treasure should be able to be found by a group of capped folk, then.

But if it's a mix, and I kill say 10 level 50 Grimswarm and 10 level 100 Grimswarm... my guess is maybe the treasure level of the box would be averaged, at a treasure level of a 75 critter?

And I'm not ready to call the boxes terrible or great yet. We've found an enhancive and a few good boxes, but the jury's still out. I think our group of four last night got 22k each last night after a 270 camp. While not TERRIBLE, it still ain't Nelemar.
