I'm looking for suggestions on good exercise videos. I have a ton of Neena and Veena bellydance tapes but I'm gonna need something else to keep my interest so I dont stop exercising. I prefer aerobic type workouts...but I suppose pilates would be ok too. Anyone offer some help?

You could go on the poor man's diet, and don't eat.

If I hear about one more video workout tape or class that teaches pole dance or stripping I'll puke.

"Hey girls, instead of working out to be healthy and make ourselves happy, lets learn to strip for our men. Gee, I can't wait to please them Hooray! Not to mention advancing my career because men will buy the tape to watch me twirl around almost nothing on!"
But lets pretend this is empowering to women, shall we?
What a bunch of demeaning crap.

I do a tape called Strength and grace, with Minna Lessig. It's a cross between pilates and cardio, and it really works well. I've been losing weight for a while, and this toned me, and she's totally not annoying.

I didn't mind step aerobics. But then my feet started sucking so I pretty much can't do any exercise involving foot impact. Stupid feet.

Don't do anything that'll hurt your knees either...

I have no idea about excercise tapes.

However, if you want the best results, do the tape in the morning when you first wake up. Don't eat before doing it, and if you can wait about a half hour to eat after.

Your blood sugar levels will be low in the morning, and you wiill have the best opportunity to burn stored fat for energy. Also, it will speed up your metabolism for the entire day.

An old one that I like a lot is Kathy Smith's Fat Burning Workout.
It's an 80s tape that combines low impact aerobics with toning exercises. It's effective. And considering it's old.. probably very inexpensive.

I wouldn't do the strip aerobics to better my career or to learn how to strip for my man. I just think that it would be more interesting than normal aerobics, more like dancing, while getting a workout. If you watched the clips, it looks more like dancing than anything else. I like dancing. I hate exercising.

Ilvane, where did you get it? I'm really looking for something that I could do. I'm just soooo lazy!! I need something that will motivate me. I'm really thinking of trying Carmen's.

Way I see it, if you're having fun and getting in shape, then all is good. If you have a healthy relationship with your man and this adds a little spice to it, it's still good.
If you're a guy watching Carmen exercise and dance to get off, well.. get out more.

Tae Bo it's hilarious to watch other people do but it will make you sweat if you put the effort into it. Won't make you a killer but it's still fun.

Here's the last thing I'll say on the strip tease thing. Its like taking someone who wants to learn how to act and giving them porn for the learning aid. Okay I'm done!

before someone responds with a retort to what you can learn from an exercise video, i just wanna remind everyone that the topic is suggestions of different videos and why they are good, not which exercise video set back the womens rights movements.

You're just saying that because you know I bought it. Once I have mastered the art of Carmen's aerobics, I shall use my newly aquired skills to go on to become the GM of my company!!

On topic: Once I get to use it, I shall give a review!

People get upset over the silliest things. Anyway...I think I'll pass on that exercise video since the last time I went to dance class I was 6.

I wish I could afford a nice exercise bike...ours is from the year one.
